I read on the old board that it's Army
Am I correct that it's not possible for anyone to look at individual album sales - we can only go by what award the album got?

I can't answer the question but it wouldn't surprise me if it was Army because, before CDs really fell off a cliff, unit sales in general were (IIRR) climbing steadily year on year. But my sense of timing on this one may be out. Army itself was a very big hit, even though it only made No. 2 in the UK. And the album was a good one by their post-thingy standards. (Yes, yes, I know.)

I'd guess On the Level, reasons being it had a number 1 single, its releases on cd, And Quo were pretty much one of the top bands in the UK/Europe(and Oz) at the time.
and the record buying public bought more albums in those days.

I would imagine it would have to be 12 Gold Bars, 48 weeks in the charts.

I would imagine it would have to be 12 Gold Bars, 48 weeks in the charts. Yes I'm sure it must be. But I want to focus on studio albums. Would be really interesting to see the sales for each album And another thought : Is a well selling album necessarily a success? AC flopped - suggesting to me that Army wasn't liked that much by the masses that bought it. PR then flopped even more If A2 flopps, I think that may tell us more about A1 than it might A2

Perfect Remedy above QPQ certainly reflects the reduction in people buying albums.

Perfect Remedy above QPQ certainly reflects the reduction in people buying albums. Not sure as 12 gold bars has Platinum status but ranks below albums that do not ?

AC bigger than Piledriver ?? Not easy to believe To steal a well worn phrase from one of our members - possibly in global markets.

AC bigger than Piledriver ?? Not easy to believe It's based on time in the charts as opposed to actual sales, or even claimed sales. Its easy to forget what a great shifter of albums they were. Such a shame they never saw most of the money from the sales.

I bought ITAN and couldn't wait to get rid of it. It didn't deserve the Quo name. I can see 12 Gold Bars beong up there.
