Simon Porters statement is pathetic really....almost like 'oh well alright you can have your damn money back then . Here just take it before I change my mind'. He mentions that you people who bought tickets actually paid to see a band and not a solo artist. I'd really wonder how this LNOTE tour would've ended up if Francis was the unfortunate one to retire. A very different scenario I'd imagine, but why? To my way of thinking Rick is just as important as Francis in Quo. Can't they see that?

Oh, I think they can Gaz. They simply don't want to refund tickets and they're being hard nosed about it.

Could have been worse. "You mutinous dog I'll live to see you hanging from the highest yardarm in the British fleet." Is what I got when I got a refund from Isle Of Wight ferries.

The management see Andy and Rhino as fully paid up long standing members of Status Quo, who, along with a succession of drummers, have been the 30 yr replacements for Alan and John. Andy of course also played an increasing role right back in the FF era. On that basis, irrespective of Rick probably permanent absence, they see the combination of these members alongside Francis as being consistent with Status Quo's history. Therefore they see no reason to change their mind-set.
However, it is this stance, that conflicts dangerously with those of long standing fans. Like it or loathe it, there is nothing that can be done to change this stance and I am sure that the management are fully aware of how the acoustic/LNOTE band membership stacks up legally in terms of name. Especially with Ricks endorsement of them prevailing in his absence.
In my opinion its best to try and accept that nothing is going to change - as difficult and unacceptable as that is. Otherwise threads of wrath will raise blood pressures for a long long time to come...and keep falling on continuing deaf ears...
Unfortunately the modern day management have made a total PR hash of the whole matter and severely underestimated fan sentiment and demonstrated some considerable insensitivity to the strong attachment long standing fans pay to the original tight knit family-like roots of the band, and, most especially the very different management ethos that existed under the ethos of the Colin Johnson early 70's time.
The former and latter approaches and outlooks couldn't be more starkly different.
The FF reunions, having given a very post dated reminder of those glory days have rubbed salt in those wounds - having been put out to savour and snatched away again leaving legions high and dry afterwards. Its extremely poor and tunnel visioned band>fan management to say the least
2016 management won't ever revisit or considers others early 1970's sentiment. Furthermore Francis, like it or loathe it, rightly or wrongly has also moved on. And he also won't ever go back.
Its over and over and over I told you, its over and done....

I agree @catlady about the management and obviously some fans view of Andy and Rhino and why they don't see this line-up change as significant. From my pov, they've always promoted the image of the band as Rick and Francis. My copy of the biog, XS-All areas is only their story for example. The actual LNOTE poster, only R&F. That's the image. But more crucially, Rick created the Quo sound as equally as Francis (+ Alan/John). And I think Rick offers more than simply playing very intensely, he has a delicate intricacy with some of those duos with Francis that I don't think anyone else can replicate. That came organically from their learning how to play together. And that is why I find this blind spot by management so upsetting.
