...from 2013, played by the 4 guys I fell in love with when I first saw Status Quo live, 1976, in Columbus, Ohio, U.S.A....
Anyway this versión is remarkable. The jam over the last 90 seconds of the song is as good as rock & roll gets. Rossi can make the lead guitar sing better than any lead guitarist I´ve listned to.
Hats off to some dudes still doing it at a very high level well into their 60s:

Alan Lancaster was an integral part of the band. He was a foundational rock to their high energy harder edged sound. For sure. I ´probably didn´t appreciate that as much as I should have until recently.
I like and respect the current line-up, I say nothing negative about them,...but it was the butt kicking line-up that recorded the live álbum in 1976 that I fell in love with.
Such a great band. It still blows my mind that the rockers in my home country never got it. I´m from the midwest U.S.A. and my people back in the day got good rock & roll,....I think if Status Quo had worked the U.S. terrain more they would have eventually caught on. In fact I know they would have.

I wasn't fortunate enough to get to any of the reunion gigs, but this footage alone is/was enough to bring home quite starkly to me the difference between a 'modern' CQ and 'modern' FF gig.
The rustiness of not playing together for 30 yrs and the obvious health handicaps actually serve to magnify those differences further.
I remain a fan of the CQ recorded product - but the FF way is (was) superior to the CQ way in every department when it comes to the live performance.
BEL, this version, is as good as it gets I think
I just hope that the boat hasn't finally sailed and there is still one last chance

Always loved BEL from the first time I heard it and I still do. Could not believe it when they put it in the reunion set list. Superb. Even that word doesn't do it justice. The big lanky fecker at his kill us all dead best. Come on Francis, the road has been too long not to end it on a real high

It is one of my favourite tracks from the Hello! album. It was a shame I had to wait 40 years to hear it live, but it was worth waiting for. I always remember at Hammersmith, while Rossi was playing the brilliant guitar solo, towards the end, the way Parfitt was hitting hell out of his guitar.

Goddamn...anybody who can't see the difference, including Rossi, is either deaf or lying.

I'd see the current lineup in a heartbeat, regardless of setlist, since it would all be new to me. The FF I might even call in favors to make happen...but either one would be astounding.

Doub't you'd be astounded by CQ , watch the real deal and the real crowds there with you bouncing away , that just don't happen with 'Tag' QUO .
