It doesn't say a lot, but there's been a lot of chatter here about Rick not returning. This is the latest official statement:
"Guitarist Rick Parfitt is currently recuperating from ongoing medical issues following a heart attack in Turkey two months ago and the band wish him a speedy and full recovery and look forward to welcoming him back into the fold."

Thanks Jason. Where's that from? It doesn't say 'looking forward to welcoming him back into the fold for the winter shows'! They may genuinely not know, but it's a very ambiguous statement. 'Ongoing medical issues' doesn't sound very good though. Get well soon Rick quorp

Sounds like he will be back - which is great news. Just not right away.
Had the winter tour not been technically the band's last, it maybe wouldn't have been such an issue. But I suspect they are paying lip service to some of the speculation of which we are all guilty and telling us he will be back at some stage. I did worry about that after seeing the artwork for the new album.

So he may or may not be back for the Autumn tour. Hopefully he will be fit for next Summer.

I haven't seen the full quote. I did look for it but gave up. Taken from their PR mans website: PRESS RELEASE ‘Aquostic II – That’s A Fact!’ out 21st October Britain’s best-loved rockers Status Quo are delighted to confirm that on 21st October 2016 they will release ‘Aquostic II – That’s A Fact!’ via Universal Music On Demand on CD, limited edition double vinyl and Deluxe 25 Track Edition 2CD. The standard CD edition of this carefully curated collection includes 14 reimagined Quo classics such as ‘In The Army Now’, ‘Hold You Back’, ‘Roll Over Lay Down’, ‘Ice In The Sun’ and two brand new tracks. These and extra tracks are available on deluxe / vinyl, as well as another brand new song ‘Is Someone Rocking Your Heart?’ The song ‘For You’, released originally on ‘Rockin' All Over The World’, is available only on the 20 track vinyl format. The 19 track deluxe edition comes with a second disc which features 6 tracks recorded at the band’s 2014 Stuttgart ‘Aquostic’ show, which are unavailable elsewhere. [See over for full tracklistings]. ‘Aquostic II – That’s A Fact!’ is the follow up to the phenomenally successful ‘Aquostic (Stripped Bare)’ album of 2014 which was a Gold-certified Top 5 hit, giving the band their highest chart placing for 18 years. Additionally, Quo will perform a very special one-off ‘Aquostic’ show in Hyde Park at BBC Radio 2’s ‘Festival In A Day’ on 11th September 2016. NB the album has been re-titled from the previously announced ‘Aquostic II - One More For The Road’. Amazon Pre-Order Links: CD: po.st/AquosticIICDDeluxe: po.st/AquosticIIDLX2LP: po.st/AquosticIILPWith their ‘Aquostic’ initiative, after 50 years at the top of their game as one of the world’s premiere hard rock acts, Quo have leapt out of their comfort zone. With the band having stated that ‘The Last Night Of The Electrics Tour’ which comes to venues across the UK in December 2016 will be the last ever full tour featuring the thunderous Telecaster sound, it’s time to look ahead. This is the future. The ‘Aquostic’ approach represents something of a new dawn for the band. Guitarist Rick Parfitt is currently recuperating from ongoing medical issues following a heart attack in Turkey two months ago and the band wish him a speedy and full recovery and look forward to welcoming him back into the fold. Classic Rock recently named ‘Aquostic’ as one of the top 25 acoustic albums ever saying the reworked songs, “Scratch the band’s melodic underbelly in the most celebratory way possible”, having previously said of the new approach, “It works. Brilliantly. Quo acoustic? It’s no gimmick”. The Times said, “It’s time to… reclaim them as one of Britain’s great bands.” The Sun said simply that ‘Aquostic’, “Helps confirm their national treasure status”. ‘Aquostic II – That’s A Fact!’ offers a generous helping of Quo classics that are immediately recognisable, and yet demonstrably re-engineered; this is the sound of a band living in the present, embracing the future, whilst cherishing their past. NB there is a broadcast embargo on this album, nothing to be aired pre 7th September 2016 For more information or to request interviews please contact Chris Hewlett on 0845 601 2833 or email chris@chrishewlett.com. I haven't seen the full quote. I did look for it but gave up. Taken from their PR mans website: PRESS RELEASE ‘Aquostic II – That’s A Fact!’ out 21st October Britain’s best-loved rockers Status Quo are delighted to confirm.... The ‘Aquostic’ approach represents something of a new dawn for the band. Guitarist Rick Parfitt is currently recuperating from ongoing medical issues following a heart attack in Turkey two months ago and the band wish him a speedy and full recovery and look forward to welcoming him back into the fold. ..... Thanks for that Paradise. I think it's a bit strange how that line is shoehorned into the middle of that whole press release. It could have had a short paragraph of it's own; it's just seems strange to me. But I think I've started looking for conspiracy theories now (like some others), and I just need to get a grip and wait and see if he'll be back for the winter tour or not. And if not, so be it....I already have a ticket, so I'll still pop along.
