As much as I and indeed most on here would love to see Rick one last time live and playing the way only he can I would rather he just call it a day. He has nothing to prove, has a wife and young family to look after and probably has enough money to ensure his and their financial security. Considering how many health scares he has had I don't think it would be unreasonable for him to end what has been an almost endless tour programme from way back in the 70s. I am sure he would feel obliged to carry on and see this final tour through and not let the fans down. But there has to come a point were you have to put aside such thoughts and focus on what is really important in life, family, friends and health. I just hope that Porter doesn't put pressure on him to play if he is not truly fit to do so. It's been a blast Rick.thanks for all the memories, now for gods sake just take care of yourself.Cheers. I suspect it might've been the other way round: Rick: I'm fit enough to play those gigs ! Simon: Be sensible and take your time, we'll need you for the winter tour, the whole tour ! After all Rick has always been proud of his bouncing back qualities and physical strength. It'll be difficult to change that attitude at 70 nearly, whatever doctors say or reason dictates. Would people accept it if Rick would merely sing his songs during the winter tour and leave the physically demanding playing to Freddie ? And would his own pride even allow him to accept it ?

Good pic - looks like he is recuperating in the UK rather than the nice warm sunshine of Spain

Great but of cours NOTHING at the official site This is a personal post, not a newsflash ... it doesn't make sense to post every time Rick has a blood pressure reading. A few words wouldn't hurt. Things like "He's making good progress", "He's getting plenty of rest", and most of all "He'd like to thank all the well-wishers - looking forward to being back on stage soon."

Rick should swerve the winter tour & save himself for the reunions! Less gigs & more fun - got to be better for him.

Porter isn't the least bit worried if Rick doesn't come back, the fans are loving the shows with Freddie and business is booming for cash cow CQ/porter.
