Is it me or do those songs sound way too fast ? Cheers Nowadays the speed is perfect imo! But in the 80s/90s aka the Coke years, it was stupidly fast, just listen to Caroline on the Live Alive (or what it's called) album! in my opinion when Matt stepped into the band the speed changed to what it's supposed to be!

Despair about what exactly?
There is plenty I criticise about CQ and their live act, but Freddie Edwards is not anything at all to do with it.
A bit of perspective is a good thing
The only thing I have to criticize about them is the setlist, they have soooo many awesome songs, just put some in for god sake! Everything else is great imo! I agree they have had plenty enough good material to put in their own set (rather than caricature the inimitable FF) but that is almost certainly destined to never happen. More especially still with Rick's latest serious health scare

You can hear the lack of depth without Rick I do agree with that. There's a reason why Rick is Rick, regarded as one of the best rhythm guitarists in the world! He cannot be 'replaced'. Hope he is well again soon & fully recovered!
But I'm against this Freddie bashing, he is filling out, alright! If I had tickets to a Show, travelling for miles and miles, I'd be glad to hear the Music that I like instead of learning that the gig was cancelled!

No offence mean't to Freddie at all and I totally understand the need for him, for that charity gig but....It leaves a very bitter taste in my mouth, the behavior of Porter and Rossi....The way they treated Alan and John and now the way they treat Rick as some sort of removable part. I thought Rhino's post on FB was completely distasteful tbh...Perfectly understand the thrill he gets gigging with his son but, this was at the expense of a man having a heart attack and the same guy gave Rhino the life he has now, yet there was Rhino...Looking for videos, photos etc of the gig, talking about how great it was....He never mentioned Rick once...Then again, this was the same guy pretending to want an FF reunion for years and then shat himself when he saw the crowd's reaction at Hammersmith and told us all it wasn't good.....Yet, JC's FB has had posts thinking about Rick and Alan's family have posted the same thing Listening to the clips, Rick is more vital than the band think. The real fans know the score though. I wouldn't bash Freddie at all. He has an opportunity so, it's understandable he tries to grab it....The rest of the band however...

I went, bit of a last minute decision, I enjoyed it.
It ain't the Frantic Four, but what is?
Every comparison to the FF is a comparison to the greatest rock band the world has ever seen.
One major plus of the evening was far less choreographed moves!!
It was a decently enjoyable CQ concert, with a few tweaks in the set list!!

Just watched the footage and there's no way I'd go to that, even if they paid me. Nothing against Freddie; from what I've seen he's very competent and professional. The problem is Rossi IMO. I don't think Rick's voice has ever been brilliant and the less said about Rhino's, the better. But at least they try. Rossi CAN sing well but chooses not to. Same for his guitar playing; we all know what he's capable of, so why does he play DWMT like that? Why anyone would want to go and see a lineup whose only original member seems so unenthusiastic is beyond me. Sadly I'm watching the footage and my thoughts are very much the same. Whether his voice is shot, or whether he really just can't keep up, or doesn't care, I don't know, but why would I worry about Rhino singing Rick's parts (he doesn't do a bad job on CUOY) when Francis is singing Francis' parts and ... doesn't really sound like Francis? Meanwhile the actual gig seems to be moving along just fine. I was going to say "If Rick isn't well by the winter tour they should postpone" ... but I am not sure how much it matters (to me) now. We've booked reasonable seats, we know where the bar is and it's a date we know we can go Francis has been doing Not a Happy Bunny for some years and he isn't going to change now. PS I saved it ... Caroline isn't even my favourite, but what can beat that riff? And he lets rip at the end and I rather like some of it. Perhaps he isn't miserable all the time PS Still raining.

I couldn't comment on the Facebook thing, as I'm not there, I havent seen it. As you say, it's perfectly understandable that Rhino i looking for stuff from this particular gig (tbh I was hoping that a bootleg from the Scottish show from 2014 would turn up somewhere, just to have a listen to!), but you're right that he could have said something about Rick, too! That said, I'm sure he has, in person - he's just not posted it on fbook... (you know, some people think that anything that isn't on fbook or elsewhere on social media simply doesn't exist, never happened. And they feel the need to express themselves on whatever Topic because they think they're so important. Well, look at me, I'm not on fbook, but I do exist! (Actually somebody, slighly ironical, asked me this question when I said I'm not on!))... but I'm waffling... Back to Topic: so in the end, PR-wise, he should have said something on fbook (additionally to whatever he did/fel/said personally), too!
