Hi All, I watched the excellent Polish with English sub-titles 'Warsaw 44' via (Sky Cinema) Basically the film has the back story of two young people in love but concentrates the last two thirds especially on the uprising with excellent action throughout. I enjoyed it thoroughly even with a couple of shocks especially the execution of a minor apart from that a real good enjoyable WW2 genre film.....
Starring:-Józef Pawłowski-Stefan Zawadzki,Zofia Wichłacz-Biedronka (Alicja Saska),Anna Próchniak - Kama (Kamila Jedrusik), Antoni Królikowski (pl) - Beksa,Maurycy Popiel (pl) - Góral,Filip Gurłacz - Roga and Tomasz Schuchardt - Kobra.
In the summer of 1944, the Red Army advances from the east in the direction of Warsaw. For that reason, the Home Army launches a revolt against the German occupying force. The underground fighter Stefan joins the armed uprising. He loves nurse Ala, but at the same time he has feelings for a underground fighter named Kama. When the uprising is crushed, with heavy casualties and whole city destroyed.

Hi All, I watched via (Sky Cinema) 'The Man From Uncle' a very underrated film IMHO, I thought and has it's really funny moments along with some good action. The two main characters Napoleon and Ilya compliment each other well, both very funny at times reacting to each others actions, just a good old fashioned enjoyable Action/Adventure escapism film which I enjoyed thoroughly.....
Starring:-Henry Cavill,Armie Hammer,Alicia Vikander,Elizabeth Debicki,Jared Harris,Hugh Grant,Luca Calvani,Sylvester Groth, David Menkin,Simona Caparrini,Misha Kuznetsov,Christian Berkel and who do we have here David Beckham....
At the height of the Cold War, a mysterious criminal organization plans to use nuclear weapons and technology to upset the fragile balance of power between the United States and Soviet Union. CIA agent Napoleon Solo (Henry Cavill) and KGB agent Illya Kuryakin (Armie Hammer) are forced to put aside their hostilities and work together to stop the evildoers in their tracks. The duo's only lead is the daughter of a missing German scientist, whom they must find soon to prevent a global catastrophe.

Hi All, I watched the low budget British Sci-Fi film 'Kill Command' via (Sky Cinema). A fast paced action film the first 45mins fly past I personally found, then a breather then it's off again. I really enjoyed the film and anybody who is into Sci-Fi should like this film, it's similar to 'Southern Comfort' military training goes wrong but with AI Robots in a confined setting set in the near future......
Starring:-Thure Lindhardt,Vanessa Kirby,David Ajala,Bentley Kalu,Tom McKay,Mike Noble,Kelly Gough and Osi Okerafor.
Set in a near future, technology-reliant society is creating killing machines. Against this backdrop an elite army unit is helicoptered in to a remote, off-the-grid island training facility, to test the capabilities of the latest prototypes. They set up positions and make short work of the AI targets in the killing field. However, overnight their sentry goes missing, and when they find the corpse the next day they find themselves in the killing field and the tables have turned. The marines fight to survive on an island is overrun by an enemy intelligence far beyond their predecessors, which learns from their every move.

Just saw this tonight. Despite the impression the trailer gives, its not a melodrama. Very moving story.

Geoff. I used to watch that when it was on every week - circa 1965. Starring another late great, Robert Vaughn.

Hi All, Last night I watched 'The Ring' (via BBCi) a Psychological/Horror not bad a bit dated I suppose by todays standards none the less watchable although be warned nothing much happens the first half pick's up about 47mins in..........
Starring:-Naomi Watts,Martin Henderson,David Dorfman,Brian Cox,Jane Alexander,Lindsay Frost.Amber Tamblyn,Rachael Bella, Daveigh Chase,Shannon Cochran,Richard Lineback,Pauley Perrette,Sara Rue,Sasha Barrese and Adam Brody.
Rachel Keller is a journalist investigating a videotape that may have killed four teenagers (including her niece). There is an urban legend about this tape: the viewer will die seven days after watching it. If the legend is correct, Rachel will have to run against time to save her son's and her own life. Hi All, I watched via (Sky Cinema) 'Kingsman' Don't know what all the fuss was about it being a spectacular film just felt like I was watching a chav version of a James Bond rip off in it! Having said that a good bit of escapism..... What I did notice about the film was for the first time ever in my case, it appeared to have a political agenda about it with the Samuel Jackson character continually banging on about global warming at every opportunity which detracts I think from the film itself sad to say......
Starring:-Taron Egerton,Alex Nikolov,Colin Firth,Samuel L. Jackson,Mark Strong,Michael Caine,Sophie Cookson,Sofia Boutella, Samantha Womack,Edward Holcroft,Mark Hamill,Jack Davenport,Tom Prior,Jack Cutmore-Scott,Lily Travers,Richard Brake, Hanna Alström,Andrei Lenart and Corey Johnson.
Gary "Eggsy" Unwin (Taron Egerton), whose late father secretly worked for a spy organization, lives in a South London housing estate and seems headed for a life behind bars. However, dapper agent Harry Hart (Colin Firth) recognizes potential in the youth and recruits him to be a trainee in the secret service. Meanwhile, villainous Richmond Valentine (Samuel L. Jackson) launches a diabolical plan to solve the problem of climate change via a worldwide killing spree.

Hi ALL, I watched a supposed Sci-Fi/Drama last night via (Sky Cinema), the film is called 'The Quiet Hour' relies more on the ability of the young cast rather than all the CGI bells and whistles that accompany most Sci-Fi- genre these days. I was hoping for a good low budget British film but it fails to deliver miserably and I only recommend if you have watched everything (Sky Cinema) has to offer sadly..... Still this is my opinion and as always down to personal taste.......
Starring:-Dakota Blue Richards,Karl Davies(Robert No.2.-Emerdale)Jack McMullen,Jack McMullen,Brigitte Millar,James Browne, Liam O'Brien,Zeb Moore and Paul Flanagan.
Humans are few and far between since Earth was invaded by unseen extraterrestrial machines that harvest the planet's natural resources and relentlessly kill its inhabitants. In a remote part of the countryside, where starved humans have become as dangerous as the alien machines hovering in the sky, a feisty 19 year old girl, Sarah Connolly, sets out on a desperate attempt to fight back a group of bandits and defend her parents' farm, their remaining livestock, and the solar panels that keep them safe from extraterrestrials. If she doesn't succeed, she will lose her only source of food and shelter; but if she resists, she and her helpless blind sibling will be killed. And if the mysterious intruder dressed like a soldier who claims he can help them turns out to be a liar, then the enemy may already be in the house.
