"Funeral For a Friend", not only a great instumental, probably (for me) the greatest rock & roll song of them all.

I like a lot of instrumental music and have a big collection of instrumental music in quite a few styles, rock, progressive, electronic/synthesizer, ambient and some other stuff. Got into stuff like Tangerine Dream, Jarre, Mike Oldfield's instrumental stuff and more around the same time I got into Quo. Dave Edmund's rendering of Sabre Dance is great, do you know his rendering of another classical piece, Farandole ?

Generally I find they lack focus for me - I hook onto vocals. But YYZ - Rush - love it.

I love a good instrumental.
Rush´s "Overture" from 2112 kicks some major Fanny.
At the other extreme, "Love is Blue" was a pretty great one from the 60s.
The climax of "Layla" would almost have to be considered an instrumental piece unto itself, and it obviously is about as good as music gets.
ELO´s "Fire on High" was another pretty awesome one.

You've mentioned some great artists there, if you've got them on vinyl they'll be worth something someday. Problem is, will you sell them.

Jeff Yep, and also their rendering of Grieg's In the hall of the Mountain King from the same album as Fire on High
