If Alan's health hasn't got any worse since 2014(and by all accounts it hasn't) and if Rick does the CQ tour, JC looks better than ever and Rossi looks as fit as ever, though sadly his attitude on Quo seems as far removed as ever from Rick,Alan,Spud, and the Fans. Hopefully once he gets his fix of acoustic out of his system, he'll decide to plug back in his electric fender, with the FF one more time.

Yeah lets never give up on this one. Francis just has to be convinced of it. Not easy I know. But in time after the shock of Ricks passing I think Francis will come to realize it makes sense to get the old line up happening.

You can play his music, you can play his guitars but the answer is no you won’t be the machine. If they got back together great for them and those who wish to go. But it doesn't, and after the derogatory remarks Francis has made about Rick, Alan and John and his continual refusal to acknowledge Rick on stage then I don't want him working with Alan and John again. All it would prove that he's anybody's at a price. Not that we don't know that already, though. |

With the death of Rick, Status Quo and any hopes of further FF also died.
Status Quo as far as I am concerned is now purely on record, film etc.,
Any thing with Rossi is also anathema now as he has gone a completely different road, hates the Quo legacy etc.,
As such I personally would not be interested or be involved in anything that this two faced and untrustworthy man would be involved in. It would be totally false and for all the wrong reasons (money and ego only, not the music or his former friends).
Let Quo rest now.

I watched Alan and John at the Convention on youtube. Alan still has a great voice. But without Rick it won’t sound like Status Quo. He is that important to the sound.
Would have been good if the6 had got back together before his passing but unlike last time I wouldn’t have travelled to see it.

No you're right, without Rick there can't be any chance of hearing that authentic 'sound' again. But we have settled for less over the last 30 odd years.... JCQ and some of the tribs do their best and for me, the choice of setlists make up for any shortcomings in 'sound'. I understand what you mean about the travelling and respect your decision that you wouldn't have travelled to see a PLC reunion even with Rick. I remember Davy refusing to go to the second tour, we all have our breaking points. All I know is it was magic at Minehead and if there is any chance of more reunions of Alan and John, I would still travel for that feeling again. |
