I'm so glad I made the trip to see them again and it looks like those five gigs (3 in the UK and 2 in Spain) will mark the end of my Quo career. The last gig in Madrid was a very special performance (I see Leon's put it in his top 5) and a good way to bow out I guess.
Still can't quite believe I'll never see them live again though after 300+ gigs since 1986, but all good things and all that...

He's left the door slightly ajar. But only slightly. I'm sort of wishing I'd pushed the boat out and we'd done Locarno next month. We did look into it. But, alas, it all got a bit pricey. I'm a pensioner, y'know!  We've all had a good innings and the ride has been a blast 👍 Good luck to every member of the band with whatever they decide to do. They've earned it. |

Quite understandable and not unexpected. I agree with him actually, no grand finale, just let it be. It's not Quo anyway (sorry), so there is no need to have a big fanfare. It's right that it will all now be put to bed whilst all the band members are healthy and can perform at the level necessary to put on a good show. His heart is in his solo performances that is obvious and that I find to be a natural progression for an elder statesman such as Mr. Rossi. He is 75 after all and none of us are immortal. He will carry the Quo legacy through his talk shows and solo performances for as long as he can and good for him. Interesting to read about the ongoing pressure for the original Quo. I guess that never let up over the years - thanks to people like us!  If anything Rossi is honest and knows that body and mind eventually fade away. It's the right thing to do at the right time so hats off to him for recognising that. |

I think the article is taking one or two liberties with what Francis said because it's the same interview as the one in the Taunton thread. They've just 'borrowed' it and stuck in a slightly inaccurate headline.
They probably won't do any more, but it's not a definite. There is no announcement that they will 'retire'.
