The issue with Alan's hand even back then was mentioned in the recent book, "Decades - Status Quo in the 1980's"
A suggestion is made that the slight issue then could have been the early stages of MS, although that's a bit of a leap.
Still, you never know. We'll never know.

I remember reading in a book somewhere Rossi got £1800 royalty cheque for Matchstick men & other band members received £900, which caused a bit of friction within the band at the time. Back then the average UK wage was about £20/week or £1000 per year. Not bad considering the lads would’ve only been about 19. On a similar theme I can remember reading an article about Rossi receiving £50k royalties for the Hello album in 1973. |

Yeah, so maybe not such a huge sum after all. It just feels you could do more with £1400 in the late 60s than £25k these days! |

quodec you are spot on Average UK house price in 1968 was just over £4000 Average wage was £ 1144 Average wage now £25k Average price of house now £258000. At a push £25k might get you a 10% deposit

I also wonder how Parfitt & Lancaster felt about Bob Young's share of the revenue. U2 and Coldplay avoided this by making sure everybody got equal shares.
