This is when DavyNo joined them at 2:16 (I've used that joke before, but as he's no longer on here he can't do anything about it! ).

I don't mind it, better than some Christmas songs, think it would have been a big hit for them if they had done it either the late 70's period or the late 80's even. I think I remember seeing Francis say at the time, something like he wouldn't have done a shuffle for a Quo Christmas record, but he didn't expand, which just makes you want to know what he would have done!

It's fine, it's Christmas, and it's fun - lighten up.

Not a favourite of mine and had it been done in the 70's or even early 80's, I'd have been so up myself to have been offended and taken the huff. My musical snobbery was at its peak As it is, it's just another Christmas song. No worse or better than many others. Let's face it, the Christmas songs released by the likes of Queen, Coldplay and The Darkness are just as bad. So they were in good company

Coldplay and The Darkness are particularly awful songs, even by their own standards. Time to listen to Lemmy and Billy F. Gibbons again.

So that immediately put me off it no matter how good it was

I like, It's Christmas Time. Obviously I only play it at this time of year in amongst other Xmas tunes and I think it holds up pretty well.
But yes, had this come out when I was a teenager or in my early 20s I'd have probably been aghast and felt they were besmirching the name Status Quo - basically how I felt when, Come On You Reds was released.

If the Anniversary Waltz had been a flop, they might have released this.

You've only had a day of rehearsals. Is that long enough?
Narrator: "It was not".

Decent catchy Christmas song. Should get more airplay than it actually does. Still does quite well on the UK physical singles chart.

Well, everything they released since BTB was poor to terrible until HT came around. By the time this was released the Quo cringe factor was part of the norm. Mind you I don't mind this too much as it is catchy and does have a little bit of balls. I can imagine if it was a Rossi number it would be 100 times worse.
That Quo Festive stuff though was truly shockingly with the cringe dial up to 100! Terrible, terrible stuff. Bah humbug.
