Missed it. Forgot it was on Not sure I'd be that interested, if I'm honest. I like Francis, the front man of Status Quo. Not bothered about the celeb doing insipid, wash over you TV. I remember Rick doing "Mr & Mrs". I felt the same about that. But I also appreciate their need to step away from their day job. Did he win?

Managed to catch up with the Celeb Antiques Road trip on iplayer. As others have said, I thought Mr R did well and seemed in his element and enjoying the chat, especially with Linda Nolan. He did win but not spectacular profits by either of them and think they both lost money ultimately.
As Charles touched on (!)...Rossi said he was nostalgic, enjoying the model railway stuff in Brighton. Didn't Rossi's brother get a train set at the last minute one Christmas when they were both supposed to be getting guitars to start some kind of an Everly's tribute?!
I'm no psychologist but perhaps Rossi has some internal fight about nostalgia and has tried to resist it as he feels he needs to look forward and the future to survive in the business.
I enjoy these tv shows occasionally as usually learn something of value! Same with Portillo's Great British Railway Journeys which is full of historical facts and information about places I have been to around the UK over the years but didn't know much about in terms of their significant social and industrial history etc etc.

Watched it on i-player this morning. A good watch with lots of Quo chat throughout. Linda Nolan must be the only musician to have worked with Frank Sinatra, Lemmy and Bob Young

I liked the (contrived?) discovery and purchase of the penny licks as one of Francis's items. For those who haven't seen the show, penny licks were small shallow glasses used for serving ice-cream to customers from ice-cream carts. They were used in the late 19th and early 20th centuries before the invention of wafer cones.

Quite a good point that. There is a conflict going on somewhere within him but I get the impression he's selective with his nostalgia. Doesn't want to hark back too much to the FF days but continues to play a lot of the catalogue. Because he's smart. He may not like it but he knows nostalgia, especially in music, has a very big market.
