"Interesting" footage indeed. Well, that's one word for it These corporate gigs obviously pay well but they must be hard to do. Hard to work up any enthusiasm I mean. Nil atmosphere and playing to a bunch of people who may not even like you.

Why? Why would they do such a gig?

Why? Why would they do such a gig? Money; end of. I imagine Quo could command a fee in excess of £50k. I am guessing; it could be much less or much more. You can look up how much they cost to hire but if you don't go through the booking process, you don't get a quote. So it's a no brainer really. Less equipment, shorter set, easy money. Free reams of paper They've been doing these things for a long time. There's a YouTube video of them doing a BT one some years back. They look weird to me but they'll be used to them.

You would think Rossi would have ton's of money by now.

He probably does but there are 4 other mouths to feed And, on that very point, Francis is doing a lot of pretty successful solo stuff just now; talk tours, books etc. Keeping Quo in the limelight (i.e. still going) helps move all that along and also gives everyone else an income.

Nice bit of new noodling at the beginning of dd could that rear its head on a track in the future and also the little bit of rockin'on during the break bit seems to be a song that has snippets come and go over the years in little jams

Puts me in mind of Spinal Tap when they played the air force base.
This is what happens when you have a brand, and then fail to take care of it .

I wonder how much money a lot of bands lost in the big financial crash, Quo just keep working with only Covid stopping him (It's not a democracy or anything near what the FF seemed to be). I sometimes just look at the live footage and no matter how hard I try I can't stop thinking "This ain't Status Quo, it's the Francis Rossi band"
