All? Big assumption that EVERYONE has Spotify. I certainly don't Fair point 🙂 Either way, there are enough compilations out there as it is.

Indeed. 250+ different ones. But with the possible exception of the half-arsed 2020 Die Grössten Erfolge, there's none that focus purely on the last 20 years. So in theory the idea is fine, there's a cracking double or triple album to be compiled. But this certainly ain't it. Not even close.

Is it the 1976 version of "That's a fact"? Guess it's the acoustic version but the track list doesn't say so.

I guess this is what it's come down to. Has been for a while really. Instead of looking forward to an album with expectation (remember that? ), we're either disappointed that it's yet another compilation or engaged in discussion about whether a track is this version or that. Discounting that it's all academic because most of us will have whatever it is anyway. This isn't a criticism; just an observation of it how it seems to be in these days where the compilation is king and the deluxe edition attempts to pander to the collector/fan starved of new material. Or as my 30-year old nephew might put it, pi$$ off granddad

I doubt this release would've happened if the Backbone tour had gone ahead as planned. Not in this form at least. Indeed. 250+ different ones. But with the possible exception of the half-arsed 2020 Die Grössten Erfolge, there's none that focus purely on the last 20 years. So in theory the idea is fine, there's a cracking double or triple album to be compiled. But this certainly ain't it. Not even close. What about this one? www.discogs.com/release/10390052-Status-Quo-Keep-Em-Coming-The-CollectionPre Backbone, so obviously nothing from that, and also nothing from Bula Quo! or Heavy Traffic, but otherwise some nice choices from the same covered albums.

Christ! If there was ever a title perfectly suited to Status Quo compilations.

Oooh yeah, forgot about that one. Well remembered Much better choice of tracks, and by a third party - Music Club Deluxe is a subsidiary of Demon. Pity Ear Music don't have the same awareness.

Music Club Deluxe is a subsidiary of Demon. That reminds me how Edel/earmusic just repackaged the same "deluxe" reissues of DS, UTI and TPAOY that Demon/Edsel had released two or three years before.

I missed that compilation Would be interesting to see how many songs we like from cd1 and cd2 I only like about 7 from cd1 Yet cd2 there's only 1 I don't like

The new mix of "Cut Me Some Slack" is out out quoin' There's a little surprise at the end... Maybe just my speakers, but is Richie's guitar higher in the mix, and there's a bit more ambience/reverb?
Plus, an extra lead guitar at the end there.

Much better mix. More crunch, less muddy (was a big issue). A bit more sense of ambiance overall. Fortunately, they got rid of that extremely artificial reverb on the snare. Instrument placement is a bit different. Minor stuff. Keys, vocals and backing vocals are more prominent. Bass a little more buried. Both these changes help removing the muddiness. That harmonica kind of sound is also buried (still there, but very buried). Also a good thing for me. I found it a bit annoying. Extra lead guitar at the end.
Distorting mastering.
