Possibly one of the last times Pip communicated with Quo fans. Nowadays he seems to distance himself from Quo - for what reason, who knows? He's been contacted several times before now to see if he has Quo material in his archives and there are always excuses I would guess because of the abuse he receives/received. Why put yourself in the firing line by giving those interested in learning more about the band if all you get are the trolls abusing you? Sadly, as a group, we get what we deserve. See, I think I'd only joined the forums around 2009 (2008 at the earliest) and wasn't a huge regular on the site. The only time I ever really checked in was to find out the setlists for the tours and that was it so I missed a lot of the commotion. Last thing I remember was a lot of constant piss taking in regards to a FF reunion (prior to one actually happening) with someone saying that Rick, Francis, Alan and John had all been for wig fittings

From memory, happy to be proved wrong, Pip got very defensive before anyone even opened their mouths and that opened the door for various comments. John Eden was part of the board and never received any abusive posts because, in my opinion, he was open minded and understood that not everyone is gonna like everything, that music is subjective. Only one however deserved abuse was Pat Marks. Absolute prick! He literally joined to just give fans abuse and to belittle them, even people like me who followed Quo on their UK tours as a teenager Aye Pat, that's it... Join a fan forum of your employers so you can abuse and alienate theirs and your cash cow. Fucking gobshite!

I was there…I always liked the gigs Quo did at G-Mex. Made the front row on this occasion. TPOR was a great song that stuck out like a sore thumb on an absolute turkey of an album.

David Walker was really f*cking stupid for not releasing this as a single and wanting Quo to record and release "The Anniversary Waltz". It was definitely well loved by the audience when it was played during the Remedy tour, and they without a doubt planned on using the footage captured from the NEC gig as the promo video as that song is sat on a 1inch video reel on it's own.

Sadly I think the final straw for Pip was when someone commented about his personal life from years ago which Patty had mentioned in her book.
It was nothing to do with music , production , records or songs.
Quite frankly it was none of our business and it was over the top to even mention it to him.
It’s no wonder he got fed up .

Alan had already written about Northern Ireland almost 20 years before and came up with a song that was much, much better. Certainly more subtle and a fabulous listen to this day And what a song that was!

It was way to personal, and for all the blame laid at Pip's door, lets not forget the band and their management would have had the power of veto. Back to 1989, saw most of this tour (13), it was a good 'un, including Manchester.

I once witnessed that bellend holding court in a Sheffield pub prior to a gig at the Arena acting the big cheese and telling a bunch of impressionable fans what the lyrics of 'Paper Plane' were about. Curiously his explanation was completely different to Bob Young's interpretation of the lyrics. Seeing as Bob actually wrote the bloody thing I think I know who to believe. Marks is an arse.

I was fully aware of the type of songs that were being put forward for that album (PR) and knew exactly what kind of outcry there would be from the fans. The man's a prophet I have to confess, it's not a song I'm completely wild about but compared to most of Perfect Remedy, it easily stands out along with a couple of others. At the time, I thought it was TOO like John Farnham's You're The Voice in places and Pip has confirmed that they basically pinched the 'shout'. That song was still within pretty recent memory and therefore The Power Of Rock lost some of it's impact for me. I think I read somewhere that they wanted to cover You're The Voice but I'm glad they didn't. I'm not sure anyone else could have sung it as good. I think Chris Thompson - who wrote it after all - did the best version of You're the Voice when he was fronting the Alan Parsons band. But I'd sure like to hear Quo's recording if it exists in any sort of listenable state.

Hearing the backing tape it struck me that if the harmony had been the tune then it may have stayed in the set for years as itbwoukd have been easier for Francis to sing
