Waiting for a Women, I See you in Some Trouble, Backing Off, Get out of My Head and Running out of Time. According to spotify (and I don't use it too much), the last one was the most played song in 2019.

What I like about the album is the vibe. It's a case of "more than the sum of the individual parts". It flows together well, they all fit like a glove. I really like or love most of it. If there's a weak link it's wanna run away with you, bit of a surprise coming from rossi/young... Hope they make another album I agree, possibly “Falling off the World” and “Liberty Lane” the best for me but the album as whole flows and fits together very well.

Been a while since I listened to Backbone and really liked most of it at the time, so threw it back into the CD player in the car, played it over a number of days. Played it 3 times but after 2nd listen I started skipping tracks. The last 3 that rose to the top we’re Liberty Lane, Get Out of My Head, and Face The Music.

Finally got round to listening to Backbone again.
Not much for me here.
The best would be Waiting for a woman... really reminds me of Squeeze

Running Out Of Time has something, i don't know what - a little bit different somehow to the usual Quo.
Face The Music a very close second, if not only for the impassioned Rossi solo, and the groove.

Yep same for me...I wanna run away with you and also Crazy Crazy on the bonus edition are the weak links. The rest I like or like a lot I’d third this. For me BB is their most consistently decent album in terms of vibe and quality since either HT or NTL. No bad tracks at all. How often can you say that? I really like it. Favourites - melodically Liberty Lane and Face the Music Vibe - I love Backing off. Sounds like a track from Just supposing era to me Really good top third of their output album Interesting that you meantion Just Supposin' NTL and HT in this...I totally agree it's their most consistent album in a long time. Except for the weak link and the one I don't like I mentioned I like all songs in varying degrees. I mentioned my favorites above but songs like for instance I see you're in some trouble and Falling off the world are right behind it. Waiting for a woman is another one, Cut me some slack is...yep, it's a pretty decent album. Some things on the album remind me of the whole period between Just Supposin' and 1982

Backing Off for me. I like the groove.
This song sticks out to me and I still occasionally revisit it. A good tune on an album of otherwise "fair to OK" material.

This whole discussion made me isten to Backbone a couple of times again. And all I can say is that I still think it's a really decent album . Of course it's not like the old Quo, it can't be. But that doesn't mean it has to be bad, to te contrary for me. There are things that remind me even in little moments of Just Supposin, Never Too Late and 1982...mixed with some better elements of QpQ and UTI... Sure, many of us all had our or still have their questions about Francis...but in this case I can only say he did a pretty good job producing it considering everything especially the fact that Rick isn't even there
Personally I like things like the vocals mixed a bit more in the background like they were on Never too late and Just Supposin'... fits better with the guitars and such for me... Ritchie is doing a good job with his guitar work, even rhino's basswork sounds good...and especially Andy Bown's keyboard work . Favorites are Face the Music and Get out of my head, but I see you're in some trouble, Falling off the World and Running out of time (I like the Vocal harmonies there !) Are very close behind so is Waiting for a Woman...except Crazy Crazy all tracks are decent to good to me..it's an album that I can keep returning to so far and it's been quite a while since i was able to say that about this band.

Get Out of My Head and Face the Music by a mile for me. Interesting that both my choices are by Richie, which bodes very well for Quo's next studio album and Richie's post Quo solo career when Francis finally hangs up his waistcoat.

It's likely wishful thinking...but if they could make another 3 albums or so like this I would be a very happy person. And I would like Francis included...the combo of im and richie seems to work out pretty well, just listen to the second voice harmonies in I see you're in some trouble for instance. Face the Music too
