Thank you , I enjoyed listening to that! Glad you put them right on the urban myth! Shame at the end that the reunion tours were not mentioned slightly more. Also, it always irks me when they are referred to as The Frantic Four. They were Status Quo

Such a shame they didn't manage to do the vocals on the tracks they had with Rick. 🙁 Cue Francis Rossi If he wouldn’t do it when Alan was alive, I doubt he would do it now. A shame those PLC tracks were never finished. I think the songs were all Alan’s weren’t they? Were there no demo versions with his vocals? With all the technical studio gizmos available now, couldn’t they be used? Although at the last Convention he did seem to want Francis to get involved. Maybe JCQ could finish them off, with Pete on vocals. I think it would be a good tribute to Alan and Rick to have their music released, like RPJ did with Rick’s album.

The PLC stuff seems a bit of a mish mash.
I one interview Spud didn’t seem to be to aware of anything having been recorded .
Francis didn’t want anything to do with it from the outset , which is fair enough I think .

"Remembering Alan Lancaster" is an incredible 3-hour+ programme put together by the Australian Rock Show and I was honoured to be asked to take part. A couple of years ago I was happy to be able to set up an interview between Alan and long-standing show host Denis Gray. Denis took a great interest in our Bombers "Live!" album (he was in the crowd in Sydney on that night in 1989 when it was recorded) and has been a vocal supporter of the release. Denis has pulled together an amazing roll call of Oz rock royalty and former bandmates of Alan. And me, who's feeling an imposter in a list of such greatness. Thanks for the chat Denis, excellent work, you've done Alan proud. australianrockshow.libsyn.com/episode-145-remembering-alan-lancaster

Thanks for those links, Jason. I was especially gripped by the australian rock show as it highlighted a side to Alan's life after Quo that we have heard so little of over here, imo.

I noted the mention on the australian rock show of a previous interview with Alan, episode 121, which is also well worth a listen

Alan has been gone now for 7 months. Has his family released any details of his funeral? I think Australia was under pretty tight Covid restrictions at the time.

Thank you. Yes it was I knew he would not have the same send off as Rick which is sad I presume the family wanted to keep it private

Thanks gav.
Is there any plans to do an authorised biography of Alan? I feel there is more out there about him that has not been said

Nothing really online about the funeral, kept well under wraps. To be honest, that's how I would like it.
A great honourable man.
