A gem. There will be those who say it just plods along going nowhere in particular. They might well be right. And the problem with that is? Who's never taken a stroll just for the sake of it? The only Quo album I'd heard before I bought the Dog was Piledriver. So I took a bit of a chance with the money from my paper round. That money never used to go far Opening track. Gob-smackingly good to a teenager with serious lethargy. Played it at school but some ar$ehole prefect asked me to take it off so he could stick on In A Glass House by Gentle Giant. To impress his mates no doubt. Tainted me against that band forever. Because I thought it was complete, unlistentable bollox. So not only is Umleitung like a wonderful jam sitting around in someone's living room, it has a special place in my heart for warning me about Gentle Giant 12/10

I like much more Someone's Learning. This is a VERY VERY good song, but...Maybe because of it's length and because it's the same pattern over and over, just Rossi making solos...
I always supposed that the piano was played by Rick. Is it confirmed?

Would love to see it live at the reunions. There's the live soundcheck version floating around from the 82' sessions - I think it was. The closest we get to hearing it live. It was pretty good from what I remember. Have to track it down again.

Great
Agree would have been perfect for the reunions
If I have a criticism of them, it's that they tried to replicate the band at its most frantic / aggressive. A more laid back early 70's could have given us a different brilliant

The Dog is my favourite album, by anyone.
I always return to it.
This the sound of an artiste arriving at greatness and that step up in to the shuffle in the last few minutes of Umleitung is pure genius.
13/10 for the album

Here we go , upper echelons of my fave Quo tracks. As has been said in previous posts would have loved to have heard it live ( amongst a myriad of others) but alas not to be.
Think there is a live recorded version knocking about from Sweden isnt there?
Any way just pure Quo class . Not bad for a diversion .

Swedish Radio Sessions, which is a fairly common bootleg. Mainly because it was due for release about 20 years ago but was pulled at the last minute. Never got a reason why. From anyone. I even had my Amazon order in for it! Spoilsports

And this And in video They have a setlist on the Shepperton jam? Looks like they don't have anything prepared to me. What is that paper?

I always supposed that the piano was played by Rick. Is it confirmed? Is the exact reason why I love it. Why did he stop doing that?
