I remember them being very vocal at the time about how little they got done in Montserrat, and how they were very unhappy with the results of the sessions when they got the tapes back to London, and had to do a lot of work on them. Whether that was just mixing, or re-recording, they didn't say at the time.

The Master Slides for these two Pics were being sold on Ebay some time ago, Got loads of Slides off the Seller obviously someone connected to Quo or who's Parents were, They did Paper Work relating to where Photos were taken but couldn't locate it, Last batch of Photos they had up were from The Wanderer Video Shoot and think that was the last lot. I grabbed them. As soon as I spotted that they were whilst the band were in Montserrat, I had to get them. Not a clue who the photographer is, but I have asked the seller. I know Frank Griffins estate is being sold off (apparently), bur I've not a clue how close he was with the band. The only pictures I know of, that he took, are the ones on the single sleeves for the Anniversary Waltz - taken at the Berlin Weißensee festival in 1990. There's also another guy in the first picture with a camera Few more from the front cover of the Again And Again book. I've not got this personally, so I've not a clue if there are more on the inside I've got the Picture/Slide of Rossi with the Alsation

Very good photos, Quoincidence

The guys looked damn cool at this time. The 1984 band calendar had plenty of shots of each of them taken at Montserrat. Long hair, scruffy and very much old Quo look. Only problem was ... on record they had lost the plot entirely! Can't believe Margie Time came out of all this

Certainly compared to the 1983 one at any rate. It all seemed to be soft focus shots of the band in a tropical paradise apart from the front cover which was an on stage action shot. Some of the photos, of course, were used on the sleeves of the singles that came out. But I wasn't impressed, I must admit I was even less impressed with the album. Between that and the change of approach with the image, 'cool' was the last adjective I had in mind

A Mess Of Blues, Can't Be Done, Win Or Lose, Marguerita Time and Stay The Night all seemed to have work done at The Factory studios in London. Rossi has also mentioned that both he an Alan had done vox takes for Ol' Rag Blues at The Factory, leaving it up to the record label to choose the version they preferred for single release.

Bad Company was also, possibly, re-recorded during the Back To Back sessions - which would explain why it was track 5 / side 2 on the Irish release label

Not surprised vocals had to be redone tbh.
Just listen to the recording of them jamming in Montserrat. All over the f*cking show.

[That's probably due to it not ever spending much time out of the sleeve!]
Just checked my LP now and it's got BC as track 5 on it alright. Back cover shows GDTT and there's no lyrics on the inner sleeve for either song.

I genuinely think it was a contender for the album, considering there's evidence to back up that they tinkered with it in 1983. Then the Going Down Town Tonight "Demo" came along and some how ended up on there.
