After Quo enjoying a run of gold albums up until 1988, Perfect Remedy went cardboard didn't it?

Feck me, I've just checked and it still managed silver. That about 60000? Wonder how many were listened to and then gathered dust.

Back then the silver and gold disks were based on sales to the retailers , as opposed to Joe Public.
I’m not sure how that would work these days where folk but from iTunes as in effect iTunes aren’t ordering 60,000 copies.

there you go my freind all explained for you from other members..some critics slated the Quo and some didn't... Its a revelation. They don't need critics with many of the people who have suffered from much of their output. 👀

I can't remember if he added "and if you foul up it will show when you release the next one ... "

I like parts of the album. But it doesn't have the snap of RTYD, which would've elevated some of the material (but nothing could elevate Address Book...)

I really don't understand how it got silver, either from punter sales or shop orders.
It was barely in the shops, it was snuck out. Wherever you went, you had to ask for it
More mad still was that they never told the fans it was out. I wonder when it went silver? Just doesn't seem to stack up

Maybe Pip Williams personally bought them all personally, just to get them off the shelves.

Not that good an album, but three or four I really do enjoy. Man Overboard, Power of Rock, The Way I Am - that trio along with Doing It All for You would make up a good ipod EP of Quo circa 1989.

Francis always said he thought the material was really good, was disappointed how it turned out.
I never really understood that. Tbf Francis did have 3 very good ideas
* The title track, well structured, good guitar parts. Clean and clinical, could have been really good. * Little dreamer - good riffs, good solo and good guitar parts. Too clean with annoying added poppiness. Poor verses and chorus * Not at all. Laid back riff and good chord progressions. Nice album track, spoke volumes it was best choice for a single
He will have known Power of rock was great (or would have been with better production) and that fans would like Rick's man overboard
I've only just realised Francis didn't write going down for the first time. It sounds like him! Along with throw her a line, 1000 years and tommy, difficult to see why he thought these were good idea, however they would be produced
