Just came across this today. As I never followed 'modern Quo' that much I had no idea they performed Go Go Go live. A fave of latter day releases (and arguably one of their coolest music video to accompany it), I have to say it sounds fantastic live. In particular, I love the extended ending with Rick taking the lead.
Have to give credit where credit is due.

That's great! A bit of Rick's lead sounds not unlike Rockin' All Over The World!

I always thought this sounded like Ain’t complaining era Quo albeit heavier production. And the outro is a bit of a pis s take

I love that track. I really like the album as well. Because it's associated with THAT movie, many will have ignored it. Even Mrs Mortified who's never heard it! Her loss. As I've told her on countless occasions Rick is terrific in this video. The whole band are. And the homage to Rockin' is presumably deliberate. I always thought it must have been because it's too close for comfort otherwise. Hmm, think I'll play it again. Coz I can

Firstly they have a song called Go go go. You learn something everyday.
It’s not bad and I know it’s not professional recording but the vocals are dreadful.
I really think some people get excited by breadcrumbs from the band who are called Status Quo.

And I like this live rendition of it. And I'll take the vocals over, say, Bruce Dickinson any day of the week. They're perfectly adequate. Not that I'm picking on Bruce Dickinson. Well, I suppose I am really. Must be the mood I'm in I just think he's a pretty naff singer but he's in a mega-successful band who never ever seem to court any criticism. Unlike our lot

The funny thing with Status Quo is they seem to have gone through the naff light entertainment phase to being popular with the rock press phase. Who would have thought it!?

I've only seen Maiden a couple of times; once with Paul Di'Anno when they supported Judas Priest in goodness knows what year. I thought they were OK. And then with Bruce Dickinson as the main act. Didn't like them. Funnily enough, I saw Bruce Dickinson sing with a band called Samson, again way back, (I think they were supporting Robin Trower) and I thought he had a half decent voice. Maybe it's the music or the delivery of Maiden's music. Can't put my finger on it Anyway, a bit off-piste this. My fault entirely. Back to SQ1 I do like the sound of Quo's guitars live these days and I think Go Go Go reflects it very well.

Last time I saw them or maybe the time before, when Francis had changed his guitar to the all green one. (Sorry no idea of the make etc) I hated the sound. It sounded awful. Must have been before because last time I saw that the young lad was on guitar in the band. Sorry I don’t know his name. The guitars sounded much better. Now I think about it. Apart from Don’t drive my car.
