Under a Blood Red Sky has no overdubs either. Just edited for time. Even back then U2 would never release anything with overdubs. To this day, they listen back to every gig to try and improve different playing aspects.
If You Want Blood, I hope has no overdubs. It's Bon at his peak.
Maybe the Live album sums up Francis. We all know the playing could be bette, we all know he's a better player now... He sadly just doesnt just the feeling a lot of us get or got

There’s still an ongoing, rather angry debate about this. The band claims that there were only some small details changed afterwards, but Tony Visconti claims almost everything were made in the studio. There are plans to release a box set with all the shows that the album were compilated from, and then we’ll finally see/hear who’s right. Parts of the Philadelphia show is already available at the album ”Still Dangerous” and to my ears there are almost no difference between this and L&D The band over dubbed a good three quarters of the final album at Studio des Dames, something I know for fact. The only thing up for discussion is whether that was down to poor recording, poor playing or Tony Visconti being too much the perfectionist. The sessions in Paris happened. I assume that the remaining quarter is Brian Downey's portion then - 'cos even right up to 'currently' he's saying he did no fixing and that TV's recollections are 'wrong' [my word there!]. Personally I couldn't give a crap - it's still definitive Lizzy [well, that and Black Rose] G

First live album I ever owned was Made In Japan. Got it for Christmas on the strength of Machine Head which I got for me birthday The exclusion of Rory's Irish Tour '74 is simply a crime. That along with Get Yer Ya Ya's Out and Johnny Winter's Captured Live are my own personal favourites. But I was never a huge fan of the live album generally.

If You Want Blood, I hope has no overdubs. It's Bon at his peak. Some songs aren't overdubbed (the ones on the Rage TV broadcast of the Apollo), but for example, it's been rumored that Whole Lotta Rosie was the studio version speeded up (it's a fact that they never played that song at that speed), Bon was overdubbed and butchered the solos (the only remain is the final solo if you listen carefully). Also, there are rumors of the "Angus, Angus" chant was also put there, none of the bootlegs from that time contains that (But, assuming if that particular song was selected from the Apollo show, it can be like the "Quoooo" chant from an album that I think we all know here recorded at the same theatre, sort of a scottish original thing). But, as I said, it was only that song because it was the single, the other ones I think there are 100% live (and, except of Rocker, unedited) The number 50 of that list is the Ramones first live album. Yes, it is a great album, but with the past of time, it is obvious that the album was almost overdubbed completely (except the drums...And maybe the bass, because it isn't audible, it's too low on the mix). The whole show was speed up, Joey's vocals were the beggining of him being like a frog croak (the evidences are on the video from the Rainbow show and on the 4 shows released the last year from previous days of that tour) and on the album were crystal clear... I hate that lists, just I hate them. Almost the same albums in the same spots. Yes it is great seeing one of my favorites live albums on the first numbers...But...

I must revisit Made in Japan. Will confess not having listened to purple ,Sabbath or led zep for many years. Some years back I thought Purple were sounding dated, but perhaps I'd simply overplayed them Yeah Rory and Motorhead should be top 10,at least they are in there I also love Exit Stage Left, but that was my first Rush album. Think i paid about 40p for it As for Thin Lizzy , that album is brilliant ,irrespective of how live it is or isn't. But yes will be good if something else comes out from the same era that isn't tinkered

I can find two bum notes that have been corrected (circa 7:05 and 7:45, both times Scott Gorham), except for them this sounds (to my ears) identical to the version included on L&D. Same things with most of the songs from this gig, some small polish here and there, but definetly not some 75% correction, rather 5%
