Wow this is like night and day! I’ve never liked the song thought of it as quite hokey. But this is excellent. Can hear it’s hobo influence.

I have two compilations with early Quo and I generally like the songs. This one however only has a good intro which lasts for about 30 seconds. Then an almost eurovision build up to a dreadful chorus; so that's a no then. Yea pretty much my view too

I think Quo's version is uninspired as so many of their covers are: I don't see the purpose of taking an excellent song and then "Quo it up", it has mainly produced bland results. (The GREAt exception being Roadhouse Blues of course.) This has made their cover albums unlistenable to me. Sadly they didn't learn and had the same lazy approach to their own classics which led to the 2 Aquostic albums, with the same results: 75% is unlistenable.

Dion with his Belmont’s were on the fateful Buddy Holly, Big Bopper, Ritchie Valens Tour 1959. They had to carry on the Tour after the boys were killed.

If I remember correctly both Quo & Dion have been produced by Dave Edmunds, which must have been a bit of a meeting one of your heroes moment for DE - working with Dion, that is!

Dion's Yo Frankie album produced by Dave Edmunds is absolutely superb, not a single weak track and superlative production and Dion was on amazing form, the album was his recording renaissance after years in the musical doldrums.

More influential on the UK music industry than anyone after his 1958 UK Tour.

The think Quo version is miles better than this! Wow this is like night and day! I’ve never liked the song thought of it as quite hokey. But this is excellent. Can hear it’s hobo influence.

I feel I should mention that Dion has just released a new blues album with lots of famous guests, and an introduction written by none other than Bob Dylan!
