Do you think the band nicknamed Iain Jones 'Frampton' due to the hair style?! Keyboard roadie/tech back then of course.

Andy Bown part of the crew. 😯 Would’ve been terribly frustrating having to play behind the curtain, knowing you were actually integral to the music.

Just thinking back to Quo gigs I saw back in 75,76,and 78 I don’t think Quo’s tough rock image would’ve been diminished in any way if Andy was up there where he belonged. Hey Tony @bluehighway can you possibly imagine playing your organ behind a curtain while Rainbow were on stage with all that applause!!😉

I didn’t miss Andy for a second in 2013/14. Shame that because a lot of the songs missed him. Quo 77-81 were when they were the bollocks live. Polished and not just 4 hairy, abrasive men.

Oh I don't know. Michael Kenney has been doing it for Iron Maiden for decades.

That was one of the main reasons for the collapse of the Rising line up and the constant ins and outs in the band. He and Francis are incredibly similar in character.

always interested in this kind of insight. I'm a massive fan of Ritchie's playing and music (as I am with Francis) but from all the stuff you read it seems they are really difficult/not nice guys to be around. Always begs the question whether they could/should/would have achieved more had they been more receptive and collabrotive with others or not? I guess that's the million dollar question?

Is there much evidence that Francis isn't a nice guy? (I'm sure people will come up with plenty)! Just because you see yourself as the unelected leader/main man, doesn't automatically mean that you aren't a nice guy. I mean, since Roy, who has actually left Quo because they couldn't work with Francis, as opposed to being kicked out because he couldn't work with them or they weren't pulling their weight? I think sometimes you have to be ruthless to succeed; but ruthless isn't the same as being difficult.
