Really happy with these latest batch of releases. The live material is really good opposed to some of the earlier deluxe ones. I would not say some of these albums are in my favourite era for the band’s output but nice to see everything under one roof as it were regarding the b sides unreleased songs and different mixes. Hopefully some more will follow if copyright allows.

Not only is this thread a good chance for people to give the deluxe releases a listening to, if they never bought / heard them originally, but for myself and frozenhero to say what sort of influences we had on these releases and we could even talk about content that was on these deluxes before being withdrawn, or even missed off.

Which albums are we talking about ? Well, my original intention when I first messaged Victor was for the most recent 3 to be reviewed, but, the Bonus Contents on all of the releases could be - if people fancied doing that.

Not only is this thread a good chance for people to give the deluxe releases a listening to, if they never bought / heard them originally, but for myself and frozenhero to say what sort of influences we had on these releases and we could even talk about content that was on these deluxes before being withdrawn, or even missed off. I was starting to "anticipate" the deluxe editions by making my own lists of what could end up on them... and I think it was the feeling that the trio of OTL/IYCSTH/WYW really left things to be desired that set things in motion. The bonus disc of IYCSTH was so short, and the "Now Hear This" album was missing two tracks. Somebody on another forum was in contact with Steve Hammonds, so I thought I'd ask what was going on. I already told him a few things that could go on BFY/JS/NTL but I'm not sure my input was honoured much, if at all. Hearing that the reissues might stop after the classic years made me put together draft lists for almost all the following albums, not expecting much. Then I got the notice that my tracklists were accepted Since I was working mainly off lists like www.freewebs.com/quolive/ it led to all kinds of problems though. I should've involved Quoincidence much earlier - I didn't really think my lists would be accepted like this, they were only meant as a starting point to improve upon. I also kept stating that I had no knowledge of what's in the archives. So, initially, the main concern was getting the missing material. Only recently has the whole thing become more structured. More later...

For people collecting the Quo catalog (at least one copy of each song), these Deluxes are the way to go. Only a few versions were left out, from what has been released.
The live content on the last batch and the previous one also boosts the content quality of these Deluxes. Initial releases didn't have very good quality for live content.

The only one I’ve bought is RAOTW for the remix. Was an improvement on some songs but not others. I think in parts taking virtually all the keys out have left those parts empty and in need of filling out. With.....well keys 😂 That’s the only one I will buy. Personally The rest have a lot of live stuff on which to be honest is of no interest. I’ve too many boots to be bothered with anymore live stuff.
