I was at that gig. They played Edinburgh the same week coz me and sis went to both. I'm sure Bon Scott had on a Scotland jersey (Argentina beckoned) but he'd obviously discarded it by the time they played this. Great stuff by the way " I'm sure Bon Scott had on a Scotland jersey (Argentina beckoned) but he'd obviously discarded it by the time they played this." He found out a micro fibre cloth was better for cleaning the car?

Great stuff by the way Hey Mort, I saw AC/DC a few times in much smaller venues before they headed to Britain. I had also seen Quo in 75 and 76 over here in Oz. Bon and the lads were a powerhouse live act but I still rated Quo way ahead of them. Don’t know what it was but I guess simply comes down to Quos on stage presence as a unit plus I suppose the extremely loud 12 bar blues/rock. What was your vibe on the 2 bands?

Gaz , I loved Quo and AC/DC back then, although Quo always just shaded it. But they were my top two for 3 or 4 years. I saw AC/DC on their first tour of the UK (I think it was their first) in 1976 and there were about 50 people there! It was an odd gig and probably only really sort of promotional. There were adult 'schoolgirls' all over the place like something out of St Trinians and music films were shown before the band came on. Thinking back now, it's interesting that they chose to headline rather than support a more established act. They obviously had a plan! I also saw them at Edinburgh University in 1977, again in front of a very small audience. But by the end of that year, Let There Be Rock had come out and things were beginning to take off. Saw them 5 times in all with Bon and once with Brian Johnson. The last time with Bon, they were supported by Def Leppard of all people. A ridiculously long time ago all this But privileged, like you, to see both bands at what, for me, was their live peak 👍 Newer AC/DC fans would no doubt disagree. River Plate and all that.

Nah, you've gone too far From the Feelgoods to this? Got to admire your eclectic tastes! 👍 My folks would listen to herb Alpert on long car journeys, usually summer holidays to Bournemouth or Cornwall, so, nostalgia!. Interestingly, he's the A in A&M Records!

Mum was a Herb Alpert fan. Of sorts anyway. There was definitely an LP of his in the house back in the day. In fact, I've just Googled it. It was this one. Didn't know that about A&M though 👍
