I know this isn't an 'ask a question' section - but can anyone recommend a good album to start with for Uriah Heep? Should probably say I heard/saw them for my 1st time ever, supporting Saxon and J.Priest in March and I liked what I heard - but I've no idea what it was I was listening to! [that make any sense??!!] So where to start? 🤘G A few Best of editions out there but this is the best one, European Edition: Side 1 Gypsy Bird of Prey July Morning Look at Yourself Side two Easy Livin The Wizard Sweet Lorraine Stealin Lady in Black Return to Fantasy

[that make any sense??!!] So where to start? 🤘G Hi Gerh, I think I can help you out there. I've seen the band multiple times, sadly never had the chance to see Dave Byron, as he'd kicked the bucket before my first Heep gig. Albumwise the first 5 are must-haves. Number 1, Very 'eavy is an album with the band still finding their feet, but it has Gypsy on it, so a no-brainer. The one I play the most is nr. 4 Demons and Wizards, but especially nr. 3 Look at Yourself is another favourite of mine. Their second era was less successful, but until '75 you can't go far wrong with their albums. Try Return to Fantasy (nr. 8) just for the title song and A Year and a Day. Then things got bad, until fairly recently. In 2008 they produced Wake the Sleeper and had some sort of renaissance. 2011's Into the Wild is okay too, 2014's Outsider even better. Their last two offerings are a bit meh (to these ears) so I didn't buy those. Anyway, order the first five albums and you can sing along to 90 per cent of their live gigs. Enjoy immensely! There I was on a July morning
Looking for love
With the strength of a new day dawning
And the beautiful sun
At the sound of the first bird singing
I was leaving for home
With the storm and the night behind me
And a road of my own
