1954 and blues guitarist Pat Hare. Probably the first recording of distortion on an electric guitar. The song title was eerily prophetic, Pat was convicted of murdering his wife some eight years later!

I think with a bit of luck and that "something" these would have been giants, the rhythm section lacked inspiration and left a heavy burden for Stuart Adamson to carry.

Northern Ireland band The Answer and IMHO the best track from their album Everyday Demons, 'Dead of the Night.' Probably up there with the best intro to a rock song in a long while. Again, play it loud.
