What's got me thinking about this is that whilst Rhino's time in Quo has pretty much been controversial from day one who else is there that could have replaced AL any better? When I think about it AL is not someone who can easily be replaced. So in a way why not Rhino?
But what I was really wondering about here is say for whatever reason Rhino were to become permanently
unavailable then its very obvious the best fit for Quo's music at least is AL.
Or is there simply no circumstance whereby Francis would ever work with AL again even though they did work
together for the reunion gigs.
Decades have gone by perhaps AL has mellowed somewhat now and the old problems might not be so bad today.

The only circumstance i could imagine would be if Rossi contributed to the PLC tracks, thus completing the circle.

They're not speaking again and it's doubtful things will be patched up. On a purely practical level it will never happen as Alan's frailty is such he could no longer manage to play a full gig.
On the matter of who else could have replaced Al after EOTR as I've mentioned before on here the only name that was seriously in the frame was Jim Lea from Slade.

No as no promoter or record company would offer enough money to make it viable for Francis. And the same problems did re occur as Francis could not even contemplate doing any more reunion shows or any new recordings after the 2014 tour even though there was significant demand and the others all wanted to. Realistically Alan was not in strong enough health to do any long tours and would never be able to rejoin full time anyway but the option of a few ‘one off’ gigs would have been nice.
Back to the topic point, it’s worth remembering that when Matt left, it would have been the ideal time for John to rejoin the band, but he said he was never asked so I don’t see why Francis would ask Alan.

Haha NO !
I dont know if Alan could do a full gig playing bass. However if they needed another vocalist AND they do need another vocalist on the live set Al could sing the odd track or two. Not sure what he would sing mind. His old tracks dont really fit with what they have become.

I imagine the main thinking behind not bringing JC back would be the logic that a younger drummer might attract new younger fans.JC really has no singing or song writing to offer the band either.
Perhaps a younger bass play then although unlike JC Alan would be able to offer singing and song writing that we know does suit Quo's music.
Francis and Alan not getting a long now? I've not heard that. Al's health. He seems very bright and fluent in a more recent interview I heard. Physically not sure where he is at these days.
When Rick was there we did still have a good strong song writer for Quo's music but with a void there AL would strengthen up that area for Quo Imo should they choose to do another album.
An album full of FR Rhino and Andy songs hmmm. Leave me out of that!

Given Alan's unfortunately very evident health issues, it's a fairly bizarre question.

I think the only thing with Alan is his physical health. Was apparently struggling to stand for a full gig on some of the 2014 reunion gigs, and had to be carried off after the encore of one gig, i think? That was 5 years ago.
At last years Quo convention in the UK he seemed to manage 3 songs ok, but at this year's, only sang one, no bass guitar.
Mentally, he seems to be all there though.

Why not change your name to clownsville and move this to the joke section?

Two things
Firstly I don’t think rhino is in anyway controversial. I think a small minority care about quo with Alan. Probably a couple of hundred.
Second John is a shadow of his former self. He can’t keep Tempo at all. Which must be partially why he isn’t back in the band
However I would like to see him maybe guest on stage at say his local gig with Francis. Maybe for a song in the encore that would be nice.

Maybe Alan could sing Marguerita Time.
