Shame the band didn’t put the same effing effort into the past 25 years. Pleased it’s a decent album but mightily pissed off at the same time at the wasted years coasting on past glories. I firmly believe that the bashing of the band that a few have been complaining about recently, really was borne out of the genuine frustration of knowing what the band were capable of and always seeing them fall short and take the easy route of gimmicks and stale set lists, not helped by those who seemed to lap up all the novelty shite. It frustrates as well that STILL the promo videos for the album still adopt the ‘band larking about’ approach. Why not take the music seriously, like they have with this album finally? I think they've been trying to promote it like a rock album... The cover art, the B&W promo shots. They've even got Francis to take his suit off for some of them 😂 But none of that really matters now does it? The publics perception of the band isn't going to change now I'm really enjoying the album but I'm struggling visually. I saw liberty lane on ITV and found it hard to watch - sorry but Francis looked too old and to me the bands visual impact is dead. Onstage it's dark, there's stage clothes (!) and its still recognisbaly the Quo of the last 30 years. Offstage the identity has been lost Not sure I'm likely to enjoy any promo now whatever they do, sorry! I also think the album is laced with fun, it's not a 100% serious rock album. I'm not sure what the public's perception of the band is these days? I'm fairly sure the public at large don't give a sh+t to be honest in terms of the band's appearance today and it's just us lot who over think things in that way. As I'm getting older I can see how Rossi actually looks in very good shape for his age. A little way to go yet, but hopefully I will look that good by the time I get to that age. He does come out with stuff about how this or that lead to this or that which is baffling and doesn't correspond with my memory of how the band went about things, though his prerogative I guess to remember things the way he does.

Ok, so ive played it a lot of times over the last 48hrs, still dont think WFAW works as an opener id put Cut me some slack as opener & swap Backbone into track 2, Backing Off is my least favourite by a country mile so id swap that for Face The Music which should close the album proper - its a shame people who only buy the bog standard version dont hear that song as i think its one of thr best tracks on the album. 6 month ago if somebody told me this version of Quo would bring an album id really like id have laughed at them & thought they were mental, this is a proper roll the windows down feelgood album.....trust me after ISOTFC & QPQ i never ever thought id ne saying this but its hit the spot for me - i hold my hands up

Francis looks pretty much the same as he has done for last 10 years. What a pointless comment.

And finally, while I love the music of Waiting for a Woman, I finally listened to those lyrics... I see what you mean Mrs F. Not great. Sort of redeemed by the 3rd verse but if I hadn't been into the music, I might have skipped it. With 'Waiting For A Woman', with the intro I thought 'ello!, what's this?... a bit of Ian Hunter's Once Bitten or the Stones Honky Tonk Women? Not exactly. I agree about the music side and the track has a very seductive guitar sound and different to the rest of the album in a way. Lyrically?...they reminded me of sketch/quote in a Ben Elton comedy, I think it was, about a bloke reaching a certain age (40?), slowly balding and finding himself waiting in the car, for his wife, in the car park at Homebase and wondering what happened?! Not to be taken too seriously. Anyone expecting a PC Quo has been following the wrong band for 40 years, ask the band's wives!

Waiting For A Woman - Like PBT revisited and nowhere near as good (Love PBT) Cut Me Some Slack - Having that! Very Good! Liberty Lane - Meh...Reminds me of Better Than That from QPQ I See You're In Trouble - Really like the backing vocals and bass..Not a fan otherwise Backing Off - Nope! I Wanna Run Away With You - ...Nope Backbone - Nope Better Take Care Of Me - Minus the guitar solos, a rip off of Sweet Home Alabama, which is fair enough. Not for me though Falling Off The World - Meh. Loved the guitar and organ riff Get Out Of My Head - Is that Richie on vocals? Sounds good. Good track, let down by piss poor production Running Out Of Time - Oh Francis, you really are with this sort of utter shit. Every album since PR this sorta shit has been involved! Absolute dross!
My honest opinion, wouldn't listen again. You have to leave your loyalty at the door and go in with an open set of ears I did that and it's really not for me.
I said listening to the snippets that I felt the production was bland and Rossi was phoning it in...I don't feel I've been proved wrong
Some potentially very good tracks there but, production lets it down

I’ve ordered my cd and noticed the positive reviews far outweigh the negatives so far on this board.

Bearing in mind my beloved mister is just like this ... only over gadgets, not shoes ... I don't find it very mean! I prefer shopping by myself ... then he can't see when I nip into a caff for a cake. And he's got no colour sense anyway.

I thought about that and then backed off because I didn't want to drive all that way then sit through the rest of it. How did they do? I guess I will be waiting for that rumoured winter tour in 2020.

I didn't go. The thought of sitting through sets by Betty Bo, Go West, Nik Kershaw, Tony Hadley, Black Lace..etc, turn me of the idea of going for a 60 minute set. I'm looking forward to Minehead at the end of the month.

But finding it hard or uncomfortable to watch your fave band after a lineup change isn't a pointless comment I did find it hard to watch, first time without rick on TV, just didn't look like SQ to me. Probs would have thought the same 10 years ago if Rick not there, in fact I did think the same when rhino's lad had the gig for a while.

Hi!
Been throught the album about 10-12 times now and I have to say even how much I want to like it I really cant.
Some bits are ok but as a total its not of my liking, I can accept this is the way Quo sounds today and it is great they actually made this album but I think I will put it away and not return.
