It was Francis himself who clearly wanted to have this at the opening of the album. And exactly for the reason of being a bit different. It takes some getting used to but I think it's a successful move. Why not try something new? Just wish the song would progress a bit more, get heavier or faster towards the end.

I like the song a lot but saw it/still see it as a strange opener...but if that was indeed his intention it's not just a wise move but also a pretty daring move considering the fact that it could turn quofans expecting a rock album off right from start... For me it's one of the best songs on the album.

Just feel a bit for fans who don't like it, it's not great when an album kicks off with something you don't like. I can still remember my balloon bursting when I put Goin Nowhere on for the first time!
One of the positive reviews says that Francis "plays like a beginner" on this. I really like the playing, quite inventive
