From what I've heard, Liberty Lane and Cut Me Some Slack are the only decent tunes on the album Now that depends on how much you have heard?? If it's only the small snippet and the John David track, I wouldn't start judging yet. Promo copies of the release have been sent out, as they tend to months prior to the official release. I dont go off of snippets.

That's a shame then , I was quite excited when I saw there were 3 Rossi/Young tracks still to come.

“Best 2 tracks on the album” is just judgemental without the evidence at this stage. What I predict ( and what is already panning out ) is people with an open mind will judge it on its own merit without comparison and those that are saying it can’t be good have already made their decision without hearing it in total. I don’t think anyone would have predicted the discussion to be any different. I’ll listen to it with an open mind and if I like the songs then great. I certainly won’t be comparing it to anything 40 years ago. Different time, different age & a different Quo but still Quo ! it's not judgemental without evidence. I think you're forgetting that people get promo copies of albums months prior to the release. Almost everyone that has, has said the same things in regards to it. No one is comparing it to anything... just reviewing the album as it is. OK so do you mean you have heard the whole album through rather than to quote “ From what I’ve heard “ ? That seems to indicate other people’s opinions. I still think as always taste is subjective and one persons opinion doesn’t necessarily follow another’s. Which is what i expect to happen. Some will love it, some will like it, some will hate it.

You know... the one that makes it a top 20 studio album in each of the last 6 decades. Channelling it now ! But it would only be my opinion.

The de-luxe version includes the legendary "Shadow" album recorded at IBC in Winter 75/76.The album was the bands attempt at a concept album featuring the characters from Backwater, the guy,the lady and the doctor.Sadly it was considered pretentious and not Status Quo like and never saw the light of day.The demos were owned by the estate of Damon Lyon Shaw and only recently became available.

Single released on Spotify today! Thanks Visa. I clicked on your 2nd link, even though I am not on Spotify and it said not available in your country. So it might not yet be available in the UK. But I might be wrong too.

I could listen to the whole song (Backbone) here on spotify. I'll be honest, it's not for me, the huuuu huuuu huuu at several places in the song I find very irritating... also is missing a decent solo. Shame cos the song starts out good...the song just sounds a bit monotonous to me. I won't judge the whole album though before I heard it. I hope there are better tracks then this one though...
