azza200 What are 1001s? I know what a 99 from being in the UK but maybe I'm missing out on something good. This would have thrown me too because when I grew up we called them hundreds and thousands. Maybe we were posh. No, it was because we expected more sprinkles. And 1001 was busy cleaning a big, big carpet for less than half a crown!

You need to concentrate on your weak fertilization juices and not this stuff Haha the window boxes are doing fine and after three daughters I think my fertilization juices are ok too I'll sleep better tonight knowing this. When my dad learned that my Aunt and her husband could not conceive he said the explanation was "haddock water".When asked to explain he told my brother and I that haddock water was the totally useless by product of steamed haddock that was useless as a sauce or gravy therefore my Uncle had "haddock water" flowing through his loins.

Been thinking now that Rossi has got what he has always wanted full control of everything. Being a control freak only ends in disaster prime example Roger Waters look at his history of being a control freak in the late 70's & during the 80's with what he tried to do with Pink Floyd
If Rossi is saying is true how will Richie & the others feel if they offer something and Francis rejects it. Also it will show how much Ritchie & Leon Andy will take of being bossed around doing exactly what Rossi wants. Will it be a wake up call to get out for them?. As someone pointed out in another thread Leon is looking bored & Ritchie looking he did not sign up for this. Telling times for all involved Rhino won't leave or quit as he is a yes man lap dog to Rossi & he has nothing to turn to apart from his panto pub band.

By "rock" does Francis simply mean plugged in? Does he regard TW as a rock album?
I'm sure the rest of the band will enjoy making the album. Rhino and Andy can expect (as per usual) their songs to be included. For the other two, it's a chance to make their mark on a "SQ" album.
I will be always be curious about anything Francis puts out, under whatever name, so yes of course I'll listen. My expectations are not high. It's long time now since Francis wrote a rock song I really, really like. I'm struggling to think of any after HT. If he can write new songs of the same standard as that then that'd be impressive indeed for his age, but it's unrealistic to expect it. For those who don't even like HT, then yeah, there's probably no point in even listening

So 10 songs written by who....? Francis Rossi and maybe a couple of contributions by Andy Bown and Rhino. And one Tele sounding like it was from Quo. Hardly a Quo album. I do wonder if Bob Young will contribute or if he also thinks Rossi has taken the Quo name one step too far now and want's no part of it.
Anyway, will show some mild curiosity as a Francis solo project but I think the farce has gone on far too long.

Victor yeah I'd forgotten about those. Frozen hero is class, although I gather it's mostly Andy's song. Dust to gold is good but I don't like it as much now as I did. Moving on has a fantastic riff, brilliant. Song itself isn't anywhere near as good, but still a really good track. Although GGUAG is great, it's frustrating as it's so ridiculously clean. But all these years later, still really love ASU and Solid Gold. Hard to be that enthusiastic when he is writing an album "because I've been asked" !

8 Years ago, he seemed depressed about QPQ and, by his own admission, he didn't know what to write. It was Porter who said he should try write stuff like Paper Plane and Down Down. Rossi hates that album. You could see it when he was promoting it...
I can't imagine he's putting much into this album if it's "rock"

Stick some guitars on the PLC stuff and leave us with that. A new FRQ album will be of no real interest to anyone IMO Cheers

A new album that has the name Status Quo on the cover will sell far better than one that says PLC, the general public will have no idea what that means and even less interest. Nowadays it's the name Status Quo that sells the product and Francis as the "face" of the band. I regard myself as a hard-core fan so I'd love to see whatever there is from PLC but the market for that is limited to those of us whose knowledge of the back catalogue goes back further than 81. Despite the fact I think Francis has acted like an idiot on numerous occasions and treated fans with a shocking lack of respect, with his past ability to write some great songs I like to stay positive and hope that he along with Bob, Andy and Richie are capable of coming up with some good new music between them. Clearly it won't sound like FF Quo but that doesn't preclude it from still being good.

For example, You'll Come Round. So I have an open mind too about what will come. That fact that he is 'enjoying the process' must help him write, and hopefully songs some of us will enjoy.

It's not just people on here/the internet/gig goers that know it to say the very least...Anyways... But, sometimes people can't separate the two and in the end, the comparisons are inevitable and, if we're really honest, once that happens, there is only ever going to be one winner. My opinion of Francis stems from the treatment of the fans, Rick, John and Alan. He's still a musical great in my head though. Andy's always been class. I don't like Richie's playing in terms of the Quo songs performed live. It leaves me raising an eyebrow. Plus his friend on FB tried to get abusive with me and belittle me and gave Rick some disrespect so I have no time for either of them since but, who knows what his style may bring to some newly written songs

Whilst I have no intention of popping along to see the current line up since the sad passing of Rick I still think you should wait and see what FR comes up with.
It may well not be to your liking but the buying of product rests solely with the purchaser.
The last time I bought product was Bula..well, enough said and lesson learned.
The chances of driving rock, bluesy numbers filling the album are probably the same as a decent lottery win so I don't know what all the fuss is about.
There may, however be some singalong stuff that is pleasing enough or something different...I have much lower expectations on the Quo Product over recent years.
Whether it is Status Quo is another matter...as discussed over and over.
Just give it a listen, keep an open mind and see if the mood takes you..which it probably wont but never say never.
Peace and love and careful choosing of product to all.
Remember there are pension pots to be topped up.
