I got into them a few years back as a result of this thread statusquo.boards.net/thread/4971/spiderAll the stuff is available on streaming services Really good band. For me they have a Quo style engine room that sits alongside a Slade-ish melody.

I'd be about 13 or 14 when a mate got a Spider tape. We played it to death one winter spent playing snooker with mates at Chalmers Hall in Linlithgow. Happy days.

I'd be about 13 or 14 when a mate got a Spider tape. We played it to death one winter spent playing snooker with mates at Chalmers Hall in Linlithgow. Happy days. Funny how good time memories from our impressionable years can stay with us and sometimes connected forever to the music we listened to. When I mentioned the Friday Rock Show in this thread, it immediately took me back to late teen years. In a band and we used to put some of our gear in the drummer's Granddad's house. Empty bedroom. Drummer and myself used to connect a radio to a Sound City amp and blast out the Friday Rock Show through a 4 x 12 Sound City Cab. Couldn't believe how good his Granddad was being to us, allowing us to listen at that volume. The drummer didn't tell me for quite a time that his Granddad was 90% deaf! The Sound City 4x 12 Cab later became two fold-back stage monitors! A case of... " ladies and Gentlemen, before your very eyes, we will now saw completely through the middle of this speaker cabinet...drum roll please... " The monitors worked surprisingly well.

As I was usually howlin' pished every time I was in Shadows, my memory of those years is somewhat hazy. I saw him a few times in there, I did ask him what he was up to. I was too howling pished to remember his answer
