It's only fans who don't always get this. Talk for yourself. Francis' often-peddled "argument" about the popularity of artists is flawed - like everything else to do with him. He takes it to the extreme by claiming there's a constant customer base of 100 million. Does anyone seriously believe that the majority of the country doesn't buy Ed Sheeran's music because they "hate" him? Does everyone in the country actually buy music? He didn't say anyone hated him (or that he hated anyone), and he didn't say they all buy music. He just said they didn't care. He's entirely right. The vast majority of people don't care at all about any particular artist, even the most famous ones.

Francis Rossi and 'four' other members.... who are ya! who are ya! Careful, walls have ears! An old friend was just reminding me that in the Elder Days, the Kenny Ball Jazzmen had a contract that allowed them to tour with a certain number of "core" members and some session musicians. This meant that the Band could be legitimately appearing at two different gigs at the same time. I don't know if this is apocryphal, but he swears his uncle saw the posters. It has the "sting of truth" about it.

He constantly uses entire populations of countries to imply that EVERYONE in a country is relevant in his argument. Guess what?! They aren't. His "stats" mean nothing. Just more verbal diarrhoea from one half of Hinge and Bracket.
