Gates used to complain about spending too much time on here; I guess he must have pulled the plug after a couple of come-backs. Liked the man a lot.

Hey smq ....3 years into your guitar quest, hows it going? All the best to you btw.👍🎸 Plodding away still Gaz . I'm clearly not the most talented to pick up the guitar but it's become more of a pleasure than a chore as time has passed but I just have very limited time to practice unfortunately as so busy with work. I can play quite a few songs to an ok standard but sadly not really any Quo yet as haven't really progressed to barre chords much although can usually play F ok and now practicing the B chord and it's variations. Maybe I'm not as far away as I think....

So that's one more chord to go and you're all set!

Good on you for persisting and I understand how life can get in the way( or even the need to put the feet up) when you should put in time to practice. Doing way better than me.👍

Any of the competent guitarists out there able to suggest a few Quo songs I might be able to begin learning? Would need to be really easy end of the scale with not too much in the way of barre chords if possible. For context I can play a vaguely passable rhythm guitar to In My Chair using open E, open A and then B and D power chords. Thanks

Spinning Wheel blues Lazy Poker Blues All the Reasons Claudie Over and Done And there are quite some more which are pretty easy as far as barre chords go , if you need the chords just let me know Spinning wheel blues can be played for instance with G, C and D power chords, the shuffle bit will come later as you progress

4500 times is b, a, e and d. Sounds hard cos it’s long but you don’t have to play as complex as Rick did. Downstrokes will fit
Roadhouse blues - e, a and b
Lonely man - b, e, d, g
Most of it is pretty straightforward. Good luck

Hey smq, how’s it all going? It’s been 4 years now with your geetar journey and I regret I didn’t start with you but I’m retiring this year (maybe) and it’s one of the things I’m planning to do. I’d basically just like to strum along to bluesey music. All the best mate.👍
