Yeah, I detested the album cover too. It completely destroyed the bands powerful visual image. Worse was to come with DS
Tbh I quite enjoyed the album itself. It was my first CD, and it was clearly made for sounding good on the new format
The fact I loved b-sides like lean machine and reason 4 goodbye suggested to me that the new Quo could effortlessly knock out good boogie if they wanted to, but were trying new things. They clearly wanted to be Queen
I agree the album is dreadful - I’ve not listened to it since god knows when.
How much of a listen did you lot give the new Quo’s albums as they came out? I tended to listen intensely for a few weeks, and then not go back to it. Over the years I’ve gone back to 4th chord , HT and several odd tracks from here and there
Even RTYD, which I remember thinking “best album since NTL”, hasn’t been played since

Again I'm going against the grain but I love this album, though I was 10 when it came out and it reminds me of my childhood. So for that reason I can't hate it though I get why many do.
I suppose it's the band trying something different after all it worked for Queen.

Radio ga ga is sing along crap. The song has no substance. Hot space... will give some Status Quo albums a run for one of th3 worst you will hear from a good band.

It can be a funny old game music...I loathe the title track but much of this album can be enjoyed if you allow yourself to think that the days of the old Quo and boogie numbers were gone..i play it quite a bit..same can be said of Thirsty Work, seemingly loathed by the majority... but probably played secretly by many lol.
Had a bit of a difficult time yesterday but after a few large glasses of red had myself a bit of a Quo party in the evening..leaping around my lounge to the Party Aint over yet..then Piledriver...then Accident Prone.,then Caroline and Down Down..followed by Little Dreamer ,Perfect Remedy...even found myself singing along to 1000 years..oh my days..yes I probably do need help but I try not to look at these things too deeply.
Could not bring myself to play Bula however.
Peace and love and chuckles as we enter the festive season.

I was listening to AC this week again after ages of ignoring it or skipping tracks when they came up, and I found most of it pretty unlistenable. Even when you think of it as a sign of the times (yeah, it were the 80s...) it's still crappy or at most average pop music. Thinking that my once favourite band produced this appaling piece of sh*t only 7 years after NTL I still get kinda angry...

The whole album is a steaming pile of shite from start to finish with absolutely no redeeming tracks on it imo, the day i listened to this i realised the band i`d grew up with & loved since `73 were officially no more......& it would get worse!
