I was/always baffled at the unexplained exit of Mat Kerley. I was told off record a reason but can't say I know it's true. It seemed so bizarre, the best drummer they'd has since JC?!.. Who the fudge is Mat Kerley? Typo; Letley. Of course

A bit different I know, but look at Pete. After the band reformed (for purely artistic reasons) to record the Army album, Pete stated the phone never rang. No-one even bothered to let him know. Silence. Same as Bernie by the sound of it. Appreciate Frame has his side to the story too. No doubt the truth lies somewhere in the middle. Such a shame he’s quos best drummer in my opinion Cheers

Going by the John Shearlaw book from 1986,he says that Francis had loyalty to Pete Kircher but ultimately it was because Rhino and Jeff came as a pair that Pete never got the call to return. Bernie may have fallen foul of Francis and he wouldn’t have been the first, but what I find strange is that Bernie was introduced to the band as a friend of John Coghlan.Did their friendship end when Bernie went to write with Francis or does John know more about Bernie’s whereabouts but out of respect won’t tell?.
