Have you seen them recently PF. The news guys Rick Abbs and the bass player whose name escapes me at the moment are good on vocals. And their playing has sharpened the whole sound. Of course its not Quo but still a good gig. The bassist is Rick Chase. Both very good singers. Rick Chase is a rock n roll name if ever there was one.

tramper, wolfman or anyone else near Sheffield... did you go to the JCQ gig there last night? Did John say anything else about it? No he didn't.. he mentioned Rick and Alan, but nothing about the PLC project. He talked about Minehead too. It was a good gig and a good, rocking crowd 😉 I went, cracking gig, good atmosphere, bamd were top notch. Great to see JC playing so well, and Quo songs played as they should be👍

Spud didn't mention anything about future plans last night. Usually he does so maybe he's keeping quite for the time being. He did mention the Minehead DVD is coming out in March I believe.

There is an extended Rockers Rollin' from Mine head, at the end of part 2 there is mention of a dvd, so I glad someone has posted that too, thought I imagined it. March isn't too far away....

Spud and Nuff together? I'm up for that, as I will not go to see "The Francis Rossi Band still known as Status Quo".

AL and JC are legends. So is Francis too. The more I think about it though the 4 of them is what made Quo Quo. 2 things have gone almost totally under the radar ever since. 1st is Johns military style drum shuffle. Without that Quo wouldn't have become big.
2nd is Al's understanding that a shuffle like that needs music with the right production to go with it.Add his strong songs, singing and unique bass playing style.
3rd is Francis's guitar skills and singing and song writing.
4th but not least was Ricks understanding of what Quo was about along with guitar skills singing and song writing. few back then or even now really understand how it was JC's distinct military style drumming that set the whole thing up for success.
Francis in particular didn't understand that. Was quick to replace John. Still doesn't understand it. AL didn't understand it either. Nor Rick. Nor any of the producers who clung on tight thinking wow how good is this as the money rolled in.

So the classic Quo line up would have made a great marching band?!

If AL didn't understand it, nor Rick why didn't they put up a fight for JC?? They were all still in the band at the time of JC's departure and yet you blame Rossi
