So do we think Alan will play a few songs or a whole set with JCQ? Towards the end of the set my prediction is Al, Bob Young, RP Junior and Jackie Lynton. Maybe a surprise appearance from Andy Bown? Would be a lot like that Marquee gig clip I posted yesterday. We'll have to wait and see I guess...

Maybe he won't play bass at all and he'll just sing.

According to FTMO, the plan is Alan is making a personal appearance no playing. But you never know. Plans might have changed. It will be nothing like the 80s as Rick wont be there.

Says a lot about his rapport with the fans that he's doing this. I guess if he were to 'perform' he runs the risk of succumbing to anxiety and tensing up.
Not to knock Francis, but maybe he's just a bit insecure for these type of things.

The reunions of 13/14 made Rick realise,at least for the first time publicly, that Alan had been right all along. Had Rick had not been in such a dire financial situation around 1985,he may have joined up with Alan in a new Quo. Alan was the heartbeat of Quo and he was deadly serious about what Quo's public image should be and history has proved him to have been correct in voicing his concerns about the direction where Francis was taking the band.

Agree kachunk. In Patty's book, she makes that very clear how Rick wanted to go with Alan but in the end, he felt terribly guilty, because money was the reason he chose to stay with Francis.

Didn't stop him doing it though, did it. Nor did it stop him in an interview post reunion saying, 'Alan was stuck in the 70s and his song writing ideas were no good'. Sadly Rick was the sort of person who would say what he thought people wanted him to say. Personally I would take what Patty 'wrote' with a huge pinch of salt.
