As Mr Smith and someone attending the gig I can confirm you are wrong. In any case the tour name is in the ticket. It's been changed. "Plugged In" will mean nothing to some people. The overall point is that Quo should have started informing customers DIRECTLY about the changes weeks ago and allowed them to obtain a refund (given it's not what they paid for) rather than them stumbling upon a Facebook post by accident and finding out that they can't get their money back. Say for instance people check to see if the gig is still on a week before... Either they go or they rush to sell their tickets. Go to a gig they didn't want to go to in the first place or accept a cut price because they'd rather get some of their money back than none at all... An unfortunate situation that could so easily have been avoided. Shame that it would have to take some noise from fans (like last year) for refunds to become available than Quo's management respectfully considering the inconveniences caused to fans by changing the tour - and offering refunds straight away. And if ticket sales were so poor then surely there won't have been that many people to inform? Anyhow, it's not the customer's fault that a tour failed to generate enough interest. Quo booked it knowing full well the lack of demand, lack of promotion, costs involved, etc. You paint the blame at Status Quo incs door but is it not the promoters and ticket sellers who are well aware of the situation to inform their customers. It is not the band who contact me when a venue changes things but the venue or promoter. Dan Baird is not touring this autumn due to illness. It was SEETICKETS that told me not Dan's band. Although like Status Quo, Dan had posted the news on Facebook. As for ticket sales they appear to be soft. I have my own reasons to why that would be. But all I can say is the gig I am attending has been sold out for many months. You may ask why don't I ask for a refund. Well to be honest as I am battling cancer I decided to go one last time. Who knows what my future holds. Originally I wanted to see Aquostic for myself but when that changed thought oh why not.

Buy a pair of tickets for the winter tour when they first go on sale. Fast forward to the night of the gig... they get all dressed up... leave the house in the taxi they booked... have a bit of nosh in town beforehand... get another taxi to the venue.... hand over their tickets... arrive at their seats... "This is going to be fabulous!", says Mrs Smith. "I concur, darling. Can't wait to hear all those tracks that were on the Aquostic album we bought. Such nice melodies", replies Mr Smith. "Look at those two over there in leather and denims!" utters Mrs Smith. "I know! What do they think they're at? A rock concert?!" retorts Mr Smith. "Shh! We're about to begin!" scowls Mrs Smith. Quo take to the stage. "That's a funny looking acoustic guitar", says Mr Smith. "They're just having a laugh! You know how much this band like to have fun, darling!", Mrs Smith says reassuringly. Opening riff of Caroline kicks in. TWO HOURS LATER - IN THE TAXI BACK HOME"What an outrage! How could Quo be so deceitful?! Do they think we're made of money?! Most of all, my ears hurt!", cries Mrs Smith. "I know. That guy that kept shouting about the rain was terrible", replies Mr Smith. "The whole night was terrible!", bubbles Mrs Smith. She bursts into tears. "Don't cry, darling. I'm sure there's a perfectly reasonable explanation". --- All jokes about Rhino's singing aside, for people who are not on Facebook or who are of the understanding that since last year's tour was advertised as the last electric tour - which should translate as there wasn't a chance in hell of Quo doing an electric tour ever again - the above is an entirely feasible scenario for many customers and one which I predict will happen. Hopefully it will be widespread (sorry Mr and Mrs Smith) because it's only what Quo and their management deserve. Funny story but I refuse to believe that there are people out there in 2017 that don't know what Status Quo are, what kind of music they play (even if it's crap nowadays) and prefer the aquostic set (can't find words to describe how awful that is) over the plugged in version of the band.

"I concur darling"? Does even a caricature 'customer' of the band, actually speak like that? but they have thing 'going on'. Oh wait, that's me and Mrs. Jones.

Who knows what my future holds. Originally I wanted to see Aquostic for myself but when that changed thought oh why not. Sorry to hear of your situation. I think Quo and their management have to take some responsibility. As I've touched upon in another thread, Quo had the opportunity to boost ticket sales by releasing another single for Radio 2 to play. Instead, they sat on their laurels, expecting fans to buy tickets on the basis that it said "Quo". Maybe they thought because the acoustic tour in 2015 sold reasonably well that this would be the case in 2017 - more so given that this would be their only chance to see Quo? But there's some important factors to consider. This wasn't 2015, and Aquostic II had been released a year previous - and didn't do particularly well either - demonstrating the enthusiasm for acoustic Quo to be severely on the wane. OK, so promoters take a big chunk of involvement with the tours, but when they realised that the demand wasn't there, Quo themselves should have done all they could to make the acoustic tour a success - to avoid talk of any potential refunds, and especially, give the fans the message that their support was/is appreciated. At the very least, release another single. Nothing suitable? 100% Quo's fault. Rick's death may have changed things but given that they were accused of treating him unfairly, maybe a video in the vein of Traveling Wilburys' End Of The Line could have been the way to go, i.e. a shot of a guitar on its own while the others played along. Cynical marketing ploy to sell tickets? Could be seen that way, but if certain things hadn't been said and a proper tribute was given to Rick at each acoustic gig then people would have been more receptive.

Apart from as you have said before, they aren't really singles are they ?

I don't disagree with you. Apart from as you have said before, they aren't really singles are they ? In the conventional sense of what a single is, if a single mix isn't released, no, it's not. But in the sense that radio stations and artists treat it as promo for the tour/album like they have always done, then yes.

I would rather have seen the Aquostic set. Ok mate I'm not saying it would be good. But the so called electric set without Rick is much worse to me. What with the murdering of Rick's songs etc. Whereas sing a long a Quo would make me laugh. Even if that's not what the band intend. Maybe when I go I will be converted. But let's be honest it simply isn't going to happen.
