Outside Lewisham Odeon going in at the stage door he was gorgeous, wrote his autograph and gave me my pen back saying " here you go my love"! (Where's that blushing kissie smiley?!) At Paris he was jovial but sarcastic, saying "you lot must be mad travelling all this way" and shouting "shaddup" to the impatient Quo o o o o ing fans. Outside Wembley one time he was grumpy and Rick was great, but another time Rick was grumpy saying "don't touch the Porsche" but Francis was leaning on his to sign autographs! Another time at Wembley, (EOTRT I think) inside after the gig, some sarcastic comment about my handshake and both Rick and he looked stoned up to the eyeballs.... Lewisham 77? Yes!

Really friendly backstage pre gig at Plymouth in 2002, meeting your Hero's is something else...Rick was professional but not over chatty (nothing wrong with that btw) Andy had just returned to the Band following his Wife's passing, Rhino was a laugh, my then Wife calling him 'Mr Edwards' which he was well impressed with and Matt was very quiet (The Wife saying 'He appeared to be grateful for being there) Great Memories

What a show or show's they were Viv.Can you feel the shaking and vibration and smell the dry ice as that strange noise we now know as the Drone starts, place was in a frenzy when the RAOTW globe was projected on the curtain but this is really tense moment.I remember a roadie with a penlight torch walking along the back of the stacked amps, all neat and tidy, showing the shadowy figures the way to the stage. The winning goal roar spreading as the band stepped on and the absolute amazingly loud noise as Parfitt gave it a strum,Drone still shaking, absolute pandemonium in the crowd as the whole theatre can now make them out on stage through the smoke.A FEW TAPS ON THE DRUMS A PLUCK ON THE BASS A STRUMMED GUITAR AND THE VAGUEST HINT OF CAROLINE FROM ROSSI,shouting now because the world has suddenly become sssssssoooooooo fcuking loud,AND RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME RICK PARFITT OF STATUS QUO STEPS FORWARD AND STARTS PLAYING THE INTRO TO CAROLINE AS A SEARCHLIGHT ILLUMINATES HIM AND BEFORE I CAN TAKE ALL IN THERE'S STATUS QUO ON STAGE IN THE SAME ROOM AS ME.....remember it Viv?

Ah yes, I remember it well! First time seeing them open with Caroline and first time hearing Down Down played! Pandemoniun was an understatement. Those theatre seats were so bouncy and decrepit. I think mine just about lasted till the end.... (we were standing on them!)

The RAOTW tour saw my first Quo gig. Seven of us from college up to Hammy. And so it all began..gig after gig up to and including the End of the Road I had an autograph from one gig from both Francis and Rick but I was behind a gaggle of fans in front of me so it was passed to and fro the boys over the heads of the crowd so I didn't get to talk and/or to offer tea I did however, get a touch of Alans fingers out of the passenger window as he passed in the limo on the way out of another gig

Hi All, Sadly I have to say I have never met him, but in one way I am glad as with the current term of events from the reunion onwards especially my impression of him would have altered from one of admiration for keeping the band going, to one of frustration of him being a complete plank!....
Geoff.

The few times I met him (3 I think) he always was very friendly, nice, took his time, polite, extremely funny and really, really jealous and pissed off about my long hair It was always a real pleasure to meet him - and should I do so again in March at Rock Meets Classic here in Germany, when I will say my goodbyes to my once greatest hero (don't go and see "Quo" of course), I am really looking forward to it. Top bloke, can't and wouldn't say anything bad about him. His behaviour for the last year, his interviews and opinion on Quo are something else...it hurts me. It really, really does. Because, as I said, Francis was always my biggest hero, he got the nod slightly over Ricky. But just slightly. Guess why I have long hair? Guess why I play guitar? Guess why I have that big earring instead of my stud. Guess whom I was imitating when playing air guitar to my first Quo CDs...

He was wearing a badge saying "golden oldie". That was about 25 years ago!
