Tidying up files on my laptop I found this! I wasn't a member of the original SQMB but I used to read it. Oh the excitement of this announcement. I think I also felt anxious in case they weren't any good any more. Hello Quo wasn't released until the Autumn of 2012. How wonderful that I was wrong. quoal quofr quojc quorp post image on forums

Ah yes - that was the age of the armchair "experts of Quo of all eras" ( who mostly didn't see Quo until 1986 or later )..... ....telling us all how peripheral Alan and John were to the history and soul of Quo.... .....and how a reunion of the FF would never happen - or would just be a walk-on cameo at best......

Teleboogie. What a fud. It was great to see him and that Austrian arsepiece proved wrong. I think the correct regional term is "fjurd" and for the other ( although it sounds a bit highland...) - "arschloch"

Oh yes, I love reading these threads in the german board as well - they're all still there. From the first rumours over this interview, to Hello Quo (watched the jam yesterday - still awesome) and the announcement of the gigs. Then the hurry on the morning to get tickets, the german board nearly exploded, everyone was just so excited - happy times! letsrock And all over now, never to come back And there were a lot of people who said this would never happen, maybe one song, etc. pp...so glad they were wrong and had no clue what was going on - well they don't have to this very day as they still go to see "Status Quo" aka Rossi and his youngster friends Edit: After the concerts they said it was all crap and QuoLight (copyright Mr. Richard Parfitt) were rockier, better etc. Especially the "disabled bass player" and the "slow drummer who can't keep the pace" got slaughtering - how dare they! How fuckin dumb, deaf and blind you have to be? Walloopers! (I really like the word, learnt it from DavyNo on here )

Good old Teleboogie. He was good value for money.
Remember when he got sent to prison for arson?
It was cheaper than the BBC licence fee and a lot more entertaining.

Teleboogie offered his wife to Rhino. Pretty sure something was said about watching too... Weird.
He was proved wrong anyways.

Was more than delighted to be proved wrong about this, even though personal thinking was simply that they seemed unlikely to ever overcome the personal rifts and Mexican stand-off that existed.
The FF reunion(s) were a savage reality reminder of the stark differences between the FF and CQ as a live act. On the basis of how things have evolved since, those stark differences seem larger than ever - if that is possible.
The wholesale rejection by Francis of his career youth and everything his band roots stood for has proved the most staggering thing of all in my opinion. Could anyone have predicted the extent of this?
And yes, that is said irrespective of the old chestnut rebuttal that he is free to choose what he does.

I am so glad that the armchair fuds got their fair share of humble pie, and obviously, they are still eating... Thanks for sharing, curiousgirl ! I had left the building by then....

Townsville Quo (TVQ) certainly had the last laugh over fisherman and teleboogie with that news. Over 5 years ago eh...I was a member on the SQMB for a couple of years before that announcement, as My Shout, and it makes you realise how quick that those years have passed along with being cyber mates with you guys. Haven't seen TVQs name up here for a while and I always enjoyed having chats with that American fella, named Bob... (Ol Quofan?) who often posted while very pissed sitting in some bar.

I'll try to contact him. See if he'll sign on to the board. Bob was a good guy. When he learned that I hadn't heard anything after NTL he actually recorded all albums after that on cassette and sent them to me. Wish now he hadn't.
