Without him going behind the record companies back and believing Quo would come out with something that would boost them into stardom, we wouldn't have the amazing years of music from Quo. RIP

An undersung hero. He seems to have had a very versatile career and a good run and wrote books about cats. Thank you Mr S for your support for our band, and RIP.

His contribution to Status Quo was immense. He came along at a very crucial time in QUO's evolution. Ma Kellys and Dog of 2 Heads are 2 of my fave albums by anyone in any parallel universe. Born in 1935 he had a good innings. So thanks for twiddling the knobs and setting up the mics mate, you got a great sound out of the boys we love. RIP John Schroeder

Oops! So despite my silly comment, it IS worth bumping threads like this. I have to admit that the memorials to John Schroeder here gave me a new insight and respect for what he did for the band. He stuck his neck out, which is a rare and precious thing.

Recently read his biography, very good indeed. Goes into detail about Quos time at Pye, and how he stopped them being dropped after the first 3 failed singles.

Excuse my naivety and gullibility, was the previous post by THE BILLY BRAGG? Don't mess with me please!! I'm a massive supporter and admirer of Comrade Bragg Still waiting for the Great Leap Forward though. Capitalism still has a stranglehold on the world's workers.

Hi All, Anybody else think he looks like 'Chuck Norris' in Quoincidence 's picture...?
Geoff.
