RTYD a return to form? ?? Which would you have out of these: 1982, BTB, ITAN, AC or RTYD? PR so bad you missed it out RTYD for me it's a great sound and apart from Tommy the songs are all pretty good. 4500 times re-record is a stand out. CGYM is much better than RAOTW's version.

How about forty Five hundred times v this epic
RIP Ronnie , Allen , Billy , Steve, Leon , Cassie and of course Rick quorp
I think this really captures the band at its height at Knebworth in 76 , shame there is so little footage of the FF in their prime to compare

well ain't this the best thread in a while and such a welcome change.....that really does look like FR, but that looks more like a young AL on the left given, height, shape of nose and that's a moustache too? And is that little Suzi Quatro in front of them :-) Good points about Live Aid too.......never really thought about how the impact was overstated and that it provided the trigger to re-launch without AL, but didn't really open up a new market.
And yeah, as above, whereas I see 70s Quo alongside or vs a crop of heavy bands with their own unique sounds, (ACDC, Sabs, Led Zep, UFO and others), Queen were in a totally different bag for me and no more comparable than say 'The Sweet' or 'ELO' i.e not at all.

pah, bugger, you are right.....that dude's hair is thicker than Rossi's ever was (even after his highly successful hair transplants), and after watching the clip a few times I am not so sure that the dude on the left is even a dude, let alone a moustache wearing Alan L. definitely Suzi Q tho...lol

Robin Askwith to the left ? Think I'd have Free bird or Forty Five Hundred Times in any set list. Other bands epics....hmmmm?

What about late 70's early 80's whitesnake? I mean when they were a proper British Rick outfit rather than Coverdale's hairspray metal in latter years. Always thought that mickey moody was a great player with real feel...would have loved Rick to have worked with him if he'd gone solo after live aid.
