To all those above, thanks for the kind words but I don't think I played that much of a part getting the FF back together in 2013.
I'd like to think that after Francis had met Alan in Australia and made amends from all the years of hostilities, that management jumped on the bandwagon and thought about a possible reunion.
Following along from the Hello Quo documentary & jam session and with a little push and "persistent promotion" from the old FF site amongst many others, management realised there was a demand, a necessity even to get the "Four" back together on stage again.
This obviously proved to be a correct decision with demand for tickets going stratospheric as soon as they became available. Twice!
I am so grateful to all that made the FF reunions happen.

You're not alone mate. Don't think i've ever blubbed along to 4500 Times before!! Seriously?? It had that effect on me just by coming back into the set, though I guess it could just have been the B-chord effect. And when Rick came back after his cancer scare. I guess I'm just a girlie Not having Rick there fore 4500 Times ... that is what really hits it home for me. Thanks for saying Gav. At the end of seeing the FF perform on the first reunion at Wolves, I stood there and actually cried. Crying at a rock gig? I thought I really shouldn't be, but then I looked around and noticed other grown men doing exactly the same. I found my pal (board member Quozone) and he was blubbing too. What an amazing and emotional night it was a feeling I'll never forget.

Thanks Tʰᵉ Wᵃˡˡ Oᶠ Dᵉᵃᵗʰ what a wonderful thread. You and others have posted some very pertinent points that I agree wholeheartedly with. I was not a member of your forum (as I found the old message board first and concentrated on that) but I did visit it to read now and again. I still cannot believe this has happened. I feel so sad and bitter that Rick has lost out on his future. Thank goodness he (and we) had the reunion tours and were able to experience that emotional high and feel the Quo magic once again. Apart from my parents and my sister, Quo have been the longest 'constant' in my life. Always there for me to help with life's up's and down's. Ok, they faded into the background a bit for some of the time and I wasn't so keen on some of their later output, but their old glory days music was always there for me to go back to. Rick really rocked on the reunion tours and really got into the music. No messing about or taking the piss. He gave it the respect it deserved and I will be forever grateful that I was able to experience it with all of the Quo army.

The Frantic Four Forum was a great place to post, always enjoyed my time over there.
I was fortunate enough to have seen the Frantic Four 5 times across the two tours, I did all the shows at Hammersmith.
Best shows I've ever seen by anyone and they'll never be beaten as it meant so much to see the 4 of them plus Bob on stage together when I never thought I would.

I readily admit that I didn't think that the FF would get back together again - though it was innocent enough self reasoning based on the wilderness of years without reconciliation and the cold divide that had existed between the two factions within the FF themselves.
However, such reasoning is a totally different thing altogether to private hopes. As one who initiated herself as a fan in the FF hey-day and became extremely familiar with crossing Hammersmith Bridge year on year from the mid late 70's up to and including the End Of the Road (including the car breaking down half way across it in 1982! ) I would never have hoped for anything less than a reunion eventually
So I was beyond ecstatic to be proved wrong, and while I can't speak for other "pessimists" whose reasoning might have been different to mine, what matters most is that surely there are few Quo fans, whether they believed it would happen or not, who could not have rejoiced when it did first happen in March 2013
Buy beyond the terrible loss of Rick, obviously first and foremost - I'm left knowing that any remaining hope of one more farewell appearance of the original four has now gone completely and that makes missing out on the reunion gigs that bit more rueful still.
So my last FF gig is set to always remain over 30 years back in time. At least I had 7 or 8 years of solid gigging and fully experienced "the real deal"
It doesn't get any better than that! letsrock

A week has passed
I've still got that sick, heavy feeling in the pit of my stomach. No "celebrity death" has ever got me like this. But Rick was so much more than a celebrity - among other things he was one of the planets first heavy rock gods...an onstage powerhouse that dripped in cool.
My eyes are watery reading this great thread. I still haven't been able to listen to Quo yet, may take a while.
Someone posted that the pain for band members past n present would be 100x what we are feeling. I can't imagine that, must be unbearable.
