It was great to be back in London, it's been a couple of years.
I don't think The White Horse quite knew what to expect. It was er, hectic
As Jimmy has said above, it certainly does rank with some of the very best of the afternoon things we've done over the years.
Here's what we played yesterday...............
Junior's Wailing
Roll Over Lay Down
In My Chair
Spinning Wheel Blues
Little Lady / Most Of The Time
Something's Going On In My Head
Runaway
(April), Spring, Summer & Wednesdays
Blue Eyed Lady
4500 Times
Never Too Late
Railroad
Umleitung
Don't Waste My Time
Roadhouse Blues
Over The Edge
Claudie
Big Fat Mama
Certainly a pretty 'hardcore' set, & as usual we just wanted to give people a chance to hear songs they don't get to hear anywhere else. With a crowd like that, there was no need whatsoever to play any of the usual 'hits', only 2 of them there, although I'd never describe Roll Over Lay Down & In My Chair as being in the 'nice singalong' big hits category. Quite staggering to think of all the stuff we didn't have time to play, but we'll get some of those in at Leeds & Liverpool, as we like swapping things around from gig to gig.
Fantastic to have the legend Jackie Lynton there, & he got up & sang with us, Chuck Berry's 'Let It Rock' & 'Johnny B Goode', his special slow & bluesy version of Quo's 'Don't Waste My Time', & also a few verses of 'The Hedgehog Song' He sold quite a few copies of his new book, which surprisingly but pleasingly, features a picture of Stated Quo in it
Thankyou to everyone who was there, you made it a hectic, frantic & hard rocking few hours
