I find this very insulting to rick.. Sadly the difference is that this gig will have been insured against colds/flu. They can get cover for that, they cannot get any kind of cover for Rick having another heart problem. It's been that way now for about 5 years and that's the difference. I think if Rick had been in the band still and he had got a cold or flu. That would not have been a problem, they could have cancelled and re-schecduled and insurance against refunds would have been valid.

Yes, I think that happened with Rochester last year and Rick had a stomach bug.

If - as people have suggested recently - that Quo is like a football team, why do the management not have substitutes on the bench in case a player gets injured?
After all, they replaced Rick quickly enough and let's not forget, the show must go on, it'd still be Quo and they don't want to let the fans down etc etc.

If he has an infection, then he will need to rest both his voice and his body. Or the whole tour could be in danger of being cancelled. Shame.

Surprised they bothered cancelling it. He cant sing anymore anyway (unlike Alan) so I am not sure it would have sounded any different to a "normal" night ?

As so many of you think of it as Francis Rossi Quo, it's not a surprise it's postponed. Do you mean this should be seen as confirmation of that point of view?

Classic Francis... Rick, Alan and John can fuck off but, I'm way too important for it to go ahead without me He'd be right tbh, the last bit anyway.

The only way he could have been replaced in this circumstance, with the call being made at 5.45pm before the gig, would to have had an understudy on standby at the start of the tour. Otherwise, it wouldn't be fair to both the stand-in and the audience with readiness to play or rehearsal. But I suspect you didn't want a sensible answer. Well ... they do it in theatre, and ballet. How long before it becomes standard in rock
