Rather petty to say admittedly in the grand scheme of things, but it almost seems like some kind of "pay-back" for the dark days of the official SQMB when Pip and others stopped posting and providing input. Management attitude has never been the same towards hard core mb members since, and appears to lump everyone together regardless, as trouble-makers.
At this time, in the less than desirable circumstances, I'm simply glad that Rick is still alive - even if his own crucial formula is missing at the band finale. There at least remains solo options for the future, even if the last days of SQ are going out with a whimper as opposed to the roar they originally came in with.

Over and over bandmembers and others are driven from forums by verbal shit that goes way beyond expressing an opinion. Bad stuff makes an impression. And if probably feels great to the poster, and he doesn't risk getting a fist in the face like he might do in the pub. As well as management I'm pretty sure some of Francis' attitude comes from this time. Everything ends with a whimper apart from being blown up by a volcano or possibly being eaten by a tyrannosaurus.

I agree @catlady about the management and obviously some fans view of Andy and Rhino and why they don't see this line-up change as significant. From my pov, they've always promoted the image of the band as Rick and Francis. My copy of the biog, XS-All areas is only their story for example. The actual LNOTE poster, only R&F. That's the image. But more crucially, Rick created the Quo sound as equally as Francis (+ Alan/John). And I think Rick offers more than simply playing very intensely, he has a delicate intricacy with some of those duos with Francis that I don't think anyone else can replicate. That came organically from their learning how to play together. And that is why I find this blind spot by management so upsetting. So right. I dreamed of the magic circle long before I knew about Quo, and live in 1982 though I knew nothing about how they worked, you could hear it in the way they played. You know ... if LSPACE is the infinite, fractal space created by really large libraries, maybe LNOTE is the infinite and eternal riff created by the real Quo. Except now today is stands for LastNote or maybe LostNote. But no! Remember that the signals in the universe are always there somewhere. My first reaction on coming out of that first gig was, so THAT is what keeps the universe turning. I think I need come coffee ...

I've also e-mailed Songkick, with no reply. I emailed song kick on Thursday and got a reply on Friday from Sarah saying they were looking into the possibility of a refund and will get back to me in a few days. Frankly I'm expecting them to try and fob me off but I will see what happens. ACDC did the right thing earlier this year and I got a refund then and the whole process was simple.....I don't expect the same with Quo. Surely management can see that having Rick missing is a big deal.....I didn't want to see Axl Rose in ACDC and I don't want to see ANYONE replacing Rick.

No, I wouldn't want to see anyone replacing Rick.....or Francis..... for me it's the two of them (and their telecasters) that are Quo for me.

Its in the press folks. So I suggest anyone who wants one goes straight to Quo's management, Duroc and they will then authorise each ticket seller to refund your tickets. Link to contact details which are also on Quo's official site.
